So Monthly Events are Permanently Progress Scaled?

So - Let me get this straight. Kabam is now dictating that I am now only eligible to play the monthly event quests at a level commensurate to my story progress, correct? I can't play for fun anymore? I can only play the way they want me to? I have to play at the same level all the time, no matter what? How do I get lower scale isos like 75, 125, etc? What, do I have to waste a 10,000 iso (because that's all I currently have) when I only need 100 to max out my champ? What is the deal??? Why are they dictating the level that I have to play? Maybe I don't WANT to play every level at thronebreaker. Maybe I want to play at a beginner level.

It's completely stupid, they will not roll this back I'm sure of it. It has to do with how they are going to continue to monetize the game. There is never enough money to be had, I mean ask their shareholders.
