Thoughts on upcoming cyber Monday and banquet event

We’re not far from the holidays and it should be evident that many players, especially the whales, are becoming increasingly tired of this game. Many, like me, are still sticking around just because we’ve invested so much money and can’t just shut it off.
I’m not sure what Kabam can do to keep interests renewed but I’m not sure that a massive t7 giveaway is going to do it … relics certainly won’t be enough.

My theory is that we will fins,ly get to see two waves of the 6* champs they’ve been holding back

For cyber Monday I am predicting
Kingpin
Scorpion
Nimrod
Doom

That would make for a really solid key event, which I think a lot of people would spend on.

Then for Christmas, finically,
Hulkling, herc, CGR

I’m honestly not sure what else Kabam could offer that would keep me interested.

I question whether the elite 6 stars are the carrot they used to be. They will still wreck common defenders… but who runs those anymore? You are still going to be punching onslaught, Zola, serpent, enchantress, etc. None are a cheat code for those. And there just isn’t enough (or any) fun monthly content to make these champs fun like they used to be. Sure they will be sought after for nostalgia but they aren’t changing whale account rosters.

Kingpin works great against Morbius in Elders EQ. The king still holds up.

Seeing some of those as 7* would be an interesting data point. I doubt it happens, but when it does I would assume either (a) there are no more rabbits to pull out of the hat or (b) there are even bigger rabbits none of us have thought about.

I think it would be cool to release them as 7* and they would sell alot but also chuck has a really good point.

I think they've fallen alot out of the meta game due to how kabam has evolved their classes and their interactions since their release.

Scorpion would technically be the "best" out of those in terms of usability followed closely by doom just because of his lock down ability.

How hype would these releases be really? Would be very interesting to see if kabam bring them as is

I agree with the spirit of this. They're just good memories at this point and they'll be brought out when their value is sufficiently diminished. I had a r4s200 Fury on day one and he's average at best in BGs.

We're just thinking of the past…the game's different now.

OK these are good points actually. i guess i was thinking from a nostalgia standpoint because i fail to see what else banquet can offer. Last year (for me) it was trying to get Thanos and Kang, which I did. Those champs have been around for a few years now and can't be the centerpiece anymore. Outside of that, banquet (or cyber monday) doesnt really seem to be about adding a whole bunch of new people so i really fail to see what they can do to keep people's attention.

actually it would be super interesting if they could do a DC crossover event and have a few guys like Batman, that would really keep it interesting
