I've been a MCOC player for almost 10 years. My rank is Paragon, I have almost 1,400 champions, a total hero rating of over 5.7 million, and a prestige of 16,000.
Despite this rank and all these numbers, I'm not a very good player. I'm a pretty average player, more interested in my champion collection than in my progress in the story mode

.
My story progression is Act 1 Chapter 2 Quest 6. Not great for someone who's been playing for 10 years. Regarding story mode, my rank should be "Cavalier" and not "Parangon."
I didn't become a Thronebreaker because I was a good player, but because Kabam changed the rank progression rules.
I didn't become a paragon because I was a good player, but because Kabam changed the rules for advancing ranks.
And today, the difficulty level of EQ and SQ is too high, and I no longer enjoy playing.
Playing these quests has become painful, where I have to spend a large amount of revive potions to advance.
So yes, it forces me to improve as a player, but at the cost of my enjoyment.
I think basing difficulty on rank is a mistake.
Difficulty should either be free-ranging or based on progress in the story mode.
