Hes a champ that only plagues AW and BGs. You dont see him in any content that is long form, or story based. Ultimately yes, he is undeniably broken, but thats only when placed on defence where his stats skyrocket. The only reason I personally dont enjoy vs.ing this champ is fateseal immunity, otherwise

there never going to nerf serpent he doesn’t need one theoretically because of his direct counters. They need to make money so they’re just going to release direct counters it makes more sense than directly nerfing defenders.

Listen, if they don't nerf Nico, Serpent will never be a problem again for anyone in like 6-12 months when 99 percent of the community have her (Ironically, I think she is made by the same person as Serpent which is kind of funny).

Not to add fuel to the fire because Serpent doesn't bother me nearly as much anymore, but do you think he'd have so many counters if they had done the right thing and made adjustments? There's only a couple decent pre-existing counters and most of his counters came out after his release.

He meant as a defender in long form and story content. He was in WOF and one of the easier matchups given the counters we could use.

Certain metas still make him difficult even with a typical counter. Don't get cornered, save a special and your striker for the death immunity and you're sorted for the most part with a fair number of champs.

If Kabam can get into the mindset of releasing difficult but fair defenders, people will still buy them. They can release champs that are better suited to take them (which people will buy as well), but it wouldn't be an automatic loss if you didn't have an ideal counter. The disadvantage is already present, no need for unavoidable damage-type champs. It's bad design.

Agreed on both points. Serpent having more counters doesn’t make him any less of a cancer. He never opened up design space either.

Btw. Nico should be nerfed, another thought diarrhea champ of how to counter and trivialize not only a class but all buffs.

The way she penalizes buff immunity as an ability is utter BS as these champs should not trigger buff immunity or neutralize, the only reason they do is because it’s anti-player and Kabam is too lazy to make the programming fit into the ability logic

I think they could nerf serpent. I don’t know how they nerf dark phoenix with that price tag so recently. They would just be telling whales and big unit grinders never to spend for such things ever again.

Thus the problem with selling champs. You already have big spenders closing their wallets after SW. Dark Phoenix would be that times 10.

Serpent came out last year, and I still dont have him as a 7 star. There is no guarantee you will get Serpent. I only pulled him as a 6 star because of the monthly log in crystal. If you dont think champions are weighted you are crazy, I dont care what they say.

Champions from basic crystals or anything other than featured crystals are all weighted equally. When serpent entered basic I both pulled and duped him within a month.

Anyways yeah great video, this is where the cancer known as op meta defender began and it has metastasized to the point BGs is a full on card game now: get a bad draft and you're **** no matter how bad your opponent is. Basically, spending is the ultimate player skill these days because of Serpent, they figured out whales will open their wallets and dump 50% quickly when a defender like that is released. Thank God the last one didn't pay off, High Evo is trash 🥀

People still going on about the other defenders that are "balanced" and didn't get nerfed. Its all product of the BS lie on Spider Woman's nerf. If they had straight up come with a truthful answer and told us that she was being nerfed in offense, we wouldn't be analyzing other defenders and calling out their BS.

I just read this:

DLL, the worst thing that ever happened to this game lmfao I’ll risk the ban on this one because it’s easy to see who’s causing a lot of these absurd balancing problems with his holier than thou persona. No wonder Vega finally had enough and cut ties with the guy, and it seems he isn’t the only one seeing how Matty also mentions DLL multiple times throughout the video and basically calls him a very unprofessional dimwit who thinks he’s always right, never wrong.
