Forums and Discord have very different ecosystems
Players have complained that Kabam is nowhere to be seen in forums but understanding the fundamentals of the 2 ecosystems will answer why that is so
Forums is mostly made up of experienced players, we are a minority in the entire playerbase, basically the tip of the pyramid
Discord has a more diverse range of players from newbies to more experienced players, representing the base and body of the pyramid
Besides taking care of existing players, a game developer also has to focus on growing new players to replace the older players who left for whatever reasons
Both avenues serve different purposes for the game right now
The atmosphere at Discord is very different from forums, basically new players who just started playing and are excited about everything, whatever bad decisions that Kabam made in the past, nope these players never experience it
It's a healthier environment sort of
Act 5 and 6 becoming easier is done for these new players so they don't face roadblocks, remember Act 5 and 6 were the endgame content back when they were first released
It's so easy to become valiant today, I have a bunch of new players joining my alliance who are valiants and they have no idea what they are supposed to do in the alliance
AW AQ Raids, nope 0 experience whatsoever, at first I was wondering why these valiants don't know anything about the game
Solo raid was created to teach them how to play raids
Soon we will have "battlegrounds for babies" bcos it's unfair for new players to face bigger accounts in VT, it's a bad experience
Strategy wise, that's the correct thing to do for Kabam
Do you think most of these players have 7* rank 4 sig 200 Spiderwoman, no of course not, that decision affected a small minority of players even though it includes many spenders
Kabam definitely knows what it is doing in the game right now bcos they are looking at the bigger picture from new players to end game players
Sure a few missteps here and there, the players just have to constantly give feedback but we have to adapt to the new changes when necessary
Some things won't be coming back like the old EQ, big move there but it's necessary for good reasons
Learning to see things from a different perspective helps me to understand why the game has changed so much in such a short period of time
