Genuine wake up call for KABAM!

Even bigger whales are upset with the direction of this game is going. Just watched for 20 minutes 👇 video and these whales are spending a lot of money, probably paying for lots of kabam employee's salary every month.
Even initial 1 minute summary of video was enough to understand the state of the game when Usafa talked about leaving the game if he doesn't get value of his money. Its a long video but recommended to watch initial intro part when all the whales gives a hint of their spending on this game every month.

There was a disclaimer at the beginning of the video but we all know how the MCOC community is.

Remember that these are people too and you aren't better than them and they aren't better than you just because they happen to make a certain amount of money and make the choice to spend those amounts on this game.

Very true, only spending money on buying shares of the company would give you shares of the company.

But not spending money on a company, would definitely not give you shares on the company, because....there won't be a company.

My Whole points is just because of people like them and all the other spenders whether they are whales or moderate, people who can't spend money on the game is able to enjoy this amazing game for free. It is always difficult for a company to survive without good amount of money.

This is about showing some care towards players in general, spenders or ftp doesn't matter. That is important for survivability of the game.

I've been alive longer than a number of people on here. I'm aware of how money works.

There's nothing wrong with a group of people getting together and expressing concerns. Hell, that's how feedback works. I think it's a crucial part of the process.

However, you are right. You get what you spend on when you spend money on a game like this. You don't get leverage to make demands, threats, or foreboding implications.

I haven't watched the video so I don't know if that's what was said. I do know how these things usually go. I've seen it many times. You see it when top Allies and Accounts monopolize Leaderboards in War, or BGs, or feel they run the game because they "pay the bills". Of course their say matters, so does the say of others.

You get what you pay for in this game. You don't get an increased say in how the game is designed.

The video is really just them coming together saying their current view on the game and what would get them to continue to spend and play and tossing around some ideas

"I've been alive longer than a number of people on here" - Honestly I have no idea what this mean, are you a thousand years old, is each person equal to 1 year, month, day, hour or second? Or do we only have less then 100 person on the forum?
I also have not watch the video, too busy on the forum giving proper responses 🤣. I do wonder on a individual player/customer based what would be the different between feedback and threat? They can say "I don't the product and if it continue this way then I would stop purchasing the product". Unless they indicate they would use physical force toward the company then it would be hard to consider it as a threat. At the end of the day it is their money they can choice to use it however they want.
Yes, you are right there are players where the game have become such a central part of their life, investing all they have into the game that they can become "aggressive" with their opinions, but I see that at all level from FtP, casual spender to big whale. It is the addiction part of their personality, and let be honest it is something that Kabam thrive on. This doesn't mean that other giving their thought is invalid.
Yep, like anything other product, what you see if what you pay for. Whether the company retain their customer, which someone like yourself (a person who I assume live very long) sure know is the key to any good business, and while the players/customers have no leverage over the company, for the company itself, it would be wise to listen to your top 1% customer, who provide something along the line of 70%, 80%, maybe 90% of your income and see how thing can improve.
I saw on another post your mentioned that we have seen many time players saying the game is dying, and you are completely right. However 2 things to consider, 1) The reason why the game continue to this day is because it does make changes, when thing were really bad and players are disengaged, Kabam recognised issue and try to improved, that is why there were there like of regular compensation a few years back. It survived because it listen to the customers and improve where possible. 2) I'm sure you would agreed that this is the first time when not only a FtP or casual spender show disengagement, but the long time big spenders, the top 1%, and even long time loyal CCP are voicing their concern. Surely it would be wise for Kabam to listen to the players, their customers. Developer can create whatever they want, but if their is no players then it is nothing.

Kabam and it's employees are not god, they are not infallible, and if so then listen to feedback, evaluate and take positive action and changes is a good things. To have feedback is a wonderful resource.

Anyway I think this is the most I could responded, hope you can find some elements you can agreed to, and for any points you don't, then I guess we just have to agreed to disagree.

i have nothing against the whales,..actually thanks from all the dolphins and Ftp in the game,..but it is kind of ironic that their spending has kind of created the game and the game economy to the state it is now.

(This is very much a whale dependent game).

I watched a bit,..but one comment stating “i want to feel special”,.,😂

…for what?,..spending absurd amounts of money in a mobile game ? 😅

Remember,..it doesn’t matter how much you spend because it’s not an actual “contest ”.

If it was we’d have the same roster each month and see who comes out on top.

I know i’d lose hard,..but that’s beside the point

Everyone should have expectations for the quality and quantity of the game,..but if you spend you shouldn’t have any special authority of the direction of it,..no more than anyone else pining for it,..and then there’s the game team,.maybe they would like to have a say in that.

Who implied Kabam and their employees are God? I never said they were. They listen to feedback, and take action on as much of it as they can, when they can. If anything, too much. At every turn, at every change, people pull out the "boycott" implication and the process starts again.

There is a difference between feedback and making threats. They can be overt like, "Do this or we walk!", or they can be subtle like, "If this isn't the direction, my spending might not continue.". Either way it's an ultimatum.

My issue isn't with people who whale out. They have free reign to spend their own money how they choose and that's great. My point is, when people use spending as a dangling carrot, that's manipulation, and I have no patience for it.

That's my only gripe. I have no issues with people expressing concerns and complaints. That's fair.

Someone dropping $118K a year for my business, I better make sure they get some IRL perks. Fly them out, take them to a game, box suite, everything expensed will be mostly likely returned later, hell just write it off.

Or they can just lay off an employee, that works too.
