Mysterium limit has (quietly?) gone up to 60,000

I just noticed it this week. Did I miss an announcement? It had always been 50,000 for as long as I can remember. Maybe they raised it because you can earn so much in the Symbiote Incursions, I think even over the old cap of 50,000.

No announcement. A few of us raised concern to Kabam over the implementation of this month's mysterium in incursions. Mike said he'd look into, and a few hours later it went up.

Hopefully it sticks past this event. The caps on Mysterium and Incursions Artifacts are bad for two different reasons. Mysterium has so few choices of things to buy in the store, with tight limits on all of them. It's tough to spend Mysterium on anything good, or even at all, if you get a surge of it all at once.

As for Artifacts, the base cap is only 500,000, I think (550,000 if you get to Summoner rank 61). Meanwhile, the ONLY thing any Valiants need from the Incursions store is the 7-star crystal, which costs 400,000. That's just way too tight a margin between the cost of the item everyone's saving for and the cap. You pretty much have to buy that crystal immediately as soon as you have enough Artifacts to make sure you don't go over the cap. That's just not good gameplay design. The existence of a store should imply you have a lot more choice in how and when you buy things than that.

I get what you're saying, but you've got a bit of tunnel vision in your perspective.

Mysterium still needs some work. I think raising the cap is a moderate win that is helpful, but it's not yet a solution. The real solution would be to change it from a weekly store to a monthly store. Then they can maintain the low cap and we can just make purchases at our leisure.

Incursion artifacts are a horse of a different color. Incursions are, almost always, completely optional. Nobody is forcing anyone to do the game mode (aside from special SQs) and hoard artifacts. Mysterium we get far more passively and are now inclined to hit the cap. Now, there may only be one thing you want to buy from the incursions store, but there is far more than one thing to purchase. Many players, even Valiants, purchase 4* crystals for iso. Many collectors to after increased chances at getting champs they don't have, even if they'll never get used. It would be nice if they reduced the timer on the 7* crystal, but raising the cap really isn't necessary. At worst it is 25% over the cost of the big ticket item. That is plenty of wiggle room. If you're hitting cap because you don't want to purchase what's available, raising the cap isn't really the solution, and there really isn't that much of a problem there to address.
