Almost certainly a marketing ploy to draw inactive players back in.

Also received the email but not the rewards when logging into the game. Also not an inactive player as log in daily. Bugs and general incompetence are comical at this point.

I’d bet good money that it’s related to the Unix epoch bug that’s affecting certain dates in-game.
