Assassin Mastery not working in BGS

Not sure if anyone has noticed but Assassin’s mastery is not working at all as an attacker in Battlegrounds. I noticed that the last 20%, there is usually only a 1-5% damage dealt compared to other areas of the game. Is the system built this way or am I bugging? (pun intended)
Reason why I brought this up is when the timer is winding down. No matter what combo or special attack you do, the defender is only losing very little health. I literally almost threw my damn phone across the room. It’s very frustrating when the match is on the line & you can’t burn off the last 20% like you can in any other area of the game outside of battlegrounds.
