How broken do you think these champions will be if kabam decides to release them as 7* in the current state of the game?

Mutant: Red Mags
Skill: Aegon
Science: Scorpion
Mystic: BW (Claire Voyant)
Cosmic: Hulkling
Tech: Nimrod

For me, I think Claire would absolutely go bonkers in the realm, given the fact we are getting so many Cosmic defenders that are immune to nullify her buff immunity will be off the charts, Not to mention her triple immunities and she benefits if you are immune to any of those effects in her current cycle.

P.s. Won't be surprised if Kabam decides to launch any of the mentioned champions during Black friday or Banquet event.

Ok Nimrod needs Awakening and part of defenders nowdays have shock or energy interaction, but for non Battlegrounds Karima/Omega Sentinel can save you because not all shock immune are Incinarate immune together

(Not as good as Bastion as attacker but could partially make a comeback)

I don't know why they're holding off of these champions. They're gonna hold off until what? They're no longer that relevant or actually very effective?

One of my favorite champs out of the batch, is Hulking, but, I feel like I won't care as much, if he isn't released soon enough. The more they hold on to these champs (that we've we already went through the process of accumulating as 6 stars), the more I just care less about their unknown release.

I don't truly see any of these champs breaking the game, we all know why they won't just release them. They'll be kept and be attached to whichever future sale, as the selling point.

They won't be "broken", for who can eventually afford to purchase them.

Red Mags:

I feel like Kabam has been doing everything they can to circumvent his dominance against the wrong class for half a decade by this point, so I think he could be released. However, I'm not sure they will release him despite all of that work. If I were to hazard a guess, I wouldn't be too surprised if they're really scared of that -70% ability accuracy despite all of the newer Tech champions being immune to it in one way or another. But anyone that isn't immune, their whole kit (and whatever nodes Kabam puts on them) basically don't matter to Red Mags. He's ridiculously broken. In some ways, even more than Hercules probably is at this point.

Aegon:

I was just talking about a 7* Aegon with some mates. While I said that I think he breaks the game in a not-fun way (despite being very fun to play), the counter-argument I heard was that he allows the average player a way to complete Everest content. If he was as broken as he was and also very resource-cheap, he probably wouldn't be released. However, he just eats up revives in exchange for speed and less of a strain on your roster. I think that might be the right take on him, so I can see him coming out as a 7* whenever we next see some type of Everest content.

Scorpion:

I don't think there's anything really holding him back. He's a very good champion, but in a class where every other champion released seems to be borderline broken, I doubt his release as a 7* is going to be what finally breaks things irreparably.

BW (Claire Voyant):

Same thing here. I think there was an argument to make that Buff Immunity was too powerful of an ability to allow into the 7* pool, but that argument goes out the window now that we have Nico. I suspect that they will hold off on releasing Claire for a while so that Nico can have that Buff Immunity shine all to herself for a while, but I see no reason why BWCV couldn't join the game in the future.

Hulkling:

I'm not sure if I find him completely broken to the same extent as Red Mags is, but I nonetheless think he's one of the more unlikely champions to be released as a 7* in the near future. He'll probably come out eventually, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was the top prize in next year's Banquet event or something.

Nimrod:

There's absolutely no reason why he couldn't come out now. He was incredibly dominant back in the day, but nowadays a lot of the toughest mutants are both shock immune/resistant and rely much less on prowess and regen and more on stuff like daunted. Both of these things make Nimrod less than ideal as a counter. In fact, I'd even go as far as to say that I wouldn't really know where to use a 7* Nimrod in today's game. The answer certainly isn't "Everywhere!", the way that it was back in his heyday.

I'm the biggest nimrod glazer but rn if he gets released unfortunately he will suck, people only invest in him for nostalgia and vibes, he in no way useful against the new muties defenders, when we have better opps like jack bastion and maker.

Magik is all set to debut with radiance overhaul it could be, we catch a glimpse of her during this banquet or next year for sure.

Quake, I don't think she will have as big an impact as she had when 5* were relevant since so many champs now counters her heavy evade.

Doom cycle could turn back the clock, I can see him showing up during Doomsday.

Not too sure about the Ghost showing up anytime soon since AW have so many hazard shift, she would cheese those fights with special boosts.

I'd largely agree with @Ercarret except for Red Mags - I think he's basically fine; they've largely shadow-nerfed him by giving most new Tech champions immunity to AAR, bleed resistance and/or immunity to armour break. Any time Kabam want him to fail against a defender, all they need is a Force of Will node, and immunity to armour break.

Most of these champions they're not exactly 'holding back', they just haven't got to them, yet. Got to fill out the Titan crystal with something .

I dont think any of them are particularly more powerful than many champs we already have at 7*. I’d take a 6* serpent over a 6* hulkling and a 6* spiderwoman over a 6* scorpion even with the nerf.

Quite frankly the game breaking champs are already available as 7* so the ones mentioned aren’t going to make much difference.

While that's true, it comes with its own problems. Us old-timers all remember when Kabam took that approach to combat Ghost, right? It shut her down alright, but it also shut down all kinds of other champions that had no right being shut down just because Kabam needed to counter one OP champion. It was just a bad time all around and in the end, they just decided to not release her as a 7* in order to phase her relevance away. We've seen that happen to a couple of champions and I wouldn't be surprised if the same happens to Red Mags too.

I think the only 6 star who would universally wreck everything and would be a huge chase champ would be Kate. These listed would have their place but wouldn’t be vital.

Nimrod can be a good stall defender unless you have a good cosmic. He can take others like Bullseye as well

Red Magneto:

Most of the current meta relevant defenders in-game these days are either non metal or immune to aar, he wouldn't really break anything. He already wasn't the fastest even for those matchups since he has to go for sp3 rotation always, now he can't even shut down abilities 80% of the time because the meta has shifted so much.

Ægon:

He was never broken, his only use is long form content and even though he is a bit of a cheat code once he's fully ramped, it takes a while to get there. I remember when Necropolis first came out everyone talked about him being the #1 MVP but if you went in and used others like Zemo Kate Wong G2099 or Shuri you could easily get better results than with Ægon who had to burn through way more revives and health potions to get going. He is the fastest option sure, but brute forcing with him is also way more expensive so for that reason alone I don't consider him broken because there is a downside to using him already and it's the fact that he requires more item investment in long form content than other champs.

Claire:

She would be very good but with mystic monsters like Nico already in-game she wouldn't really break anything. Utility and survivability would still be off the charts but her damage wasn't always the best so while she would likely be able to do the same matchups as Nico, she wouldn't be nearly as fast so if Nico isn't broken then neither is Claire, and Nico is a dual threat mind you.

Hulkling:

Same as Magneto, the meta has shifted so much I don't really see how he could be busted. Let's see Kindred, Zola, Serpent, Maestro, Yelena, Bullseye, Capt. Britain, Dark Phoenix, Deathless Thanos, Sentinel, Dust, Domino, Thing, Spider Woman, Korg, Nico, Attuma, Rintrah, Enchantress are all a big fat no either because he straight up can't counter them and would take a good amount of chip damage, or just times out because they're too damn tanky. He can sort of do Jean and Red Skull but they won't be the fastest fights you would be better off just using the actual counters for them. The only meta relevant defenders he will be able to nuke are Onslaught, Photon, FAM, Medusa, Lumatrix and maybe Sinister. I don't see how this would be busted in the slightest, he would still be decent no doubt but nothing too crazy.

Nimrod:

He was designed to be the ultimate mutant annihilator but he can't really annihilate **** these days other than the occasional Domino Cassandra and Sinister lol. He sucks for basically every mutant defender released in the last two years because they either punish shock or are immune to shock, and he doesn't have enough utility to even target other classes properly. I wouldn't even have him in my deck if he was released as a 7* honestly, prowess and regen are for the most part a thing of the past, daunted reinforce exhaustion and reversed controls are the new big thing going on in the mutant class and he can't do anything about any of them so.

Now this is where I get to the one and only champ I think would still be very strong although I'm not sure if busted would be the right word for him because Nefaria already exists and he isn't exactly busted even though they deal damage in different ways.

Scorpion:

His utility is still incredibly relevant especially the healing and the pre fights. Very few meta defenders actually target burst damage in the same way Serpent does and the fact that he can pick between three different types of dot means that he doesn't really care about immunities he just ignores them unless they have immunity for all three which isn't realistic. He's the only champ on this list I still think would be extremely meta relevant and very strong although not exactly busted because a lot of defenders these days shut down that MLM playstyle really hard but hey if Torch is out here doing Zola and Photon then he absolutely can too and with even less chip damage because of his huge block proficiency and ability to block unblockable specials.

They have Aegon listed as a champ to use a 7* gem on in game currently. So, he's coming. Plus he's not broken. Many abilities counter him.

Introducing nico was done to make buff immunity more of a prominent game mechanic so thay they can start countering it correctly. Once we get whatever those counters would be Claire value isnt gonna be as broken so she'll probably come pretty soon afterwards.
