Let’s talk about Cassandra
So, I don’t know how many of you were lucky enough to pull Cassandra Nova out of the new titan pool, but for those of us who have her and who have tried playing her, I think we can all agree that she isn’t quite as good as her potential. She’s one of the many champions in the game who need ever-so-slight tweaks to their kit to deserve a place in the spotlight.
Now, with the rebalancing program gone, I don’t really know if there’s any chance Kabam will actually buff her accordingly, but here are my suggestions to turn her from a good, but very stressful and irritating champion, who does everything that Jean does but worse, to a great, even amazing champion, who can be on par with Jean :
1- Firstly, I think that, instead of placing stuns on opponents who try to hit her during canalisation, she should place a sleep instead. This would allow her to extend the number of matchups she can tackle on as she’d also be able to handle those stun immune champions/nodes.
2- Secondly, why isn’t she reverse controls immune ? Her brother is, every psychic in the game (almost) is, so why can’t she be ? I think she’d benefit greatly from that too, as there aren’t that many characters in the game who have this immunity.
3- As she currently is, her neuroschocks and daunteds do not last long enough at all. I have tried playing her in many different ways, and unless you start building up your daunteds after getting a bar of power, which sometimes leads to having less than the maximum 25 daunteds when launching a special two, managing to throw off a special 2 with the 25 daunteds and a bunch of neuroschocks is usually pretty difficult and inconsistent. This leads up to quite a bit of issues with her gameplay. First of all, since you wanna heavy attack all the time to keep the daunteds up, you end up comboing practically never and thus fights usually last longer than with, say, Jean or Onslaught, since you also end up applying less neuroshocks. Second of all, you end up either spamming special ones, with is suboptimal since her critical rate seems to be abysmally low, or you lose most of your daunteds and neuroshocks by the time you get to a special two, which is also suboptimal.
To counter this, I think Cassandra would greatly benefit from having extended neuroschocks and daunteds duration, maybe some kind of power gain or power syphon too to be able to cycle special attacks quicker.
Aside from that, Cassandra is a really fun and pretty unique champion, and I probably will end up r4'ing her regardless of whether or not she gets tweaked, but I really do think that the crazy and evil sister of Charles Xavier deserves to be on par with some of the best mutant champions in the game.
Thanks for coming to my pep talk.
