Help with masteries please

I have a total of 59 points. I’m looking for the best all around mastery set up. I don’t care for recoil and those that come after it. Would anyone be willing to share their setup?

I’m going to work on the assumption that you understand the basic set up and go into the specifics that usually change from set up to set up and that the things that usually stay the same.

there are three basic set ups,

1. an inequity build

2. A suicide build.,

3. A Mystic dispersion build.

this does not mean there aren’t plenty of variations. Just that these are probably the most common that you run.

an inequity build

this is centered around the inequity mastery in the defense category.

It is designed for characters that apply a decent amount of debuffs or rely on their specials to do most of their damage, or both.

The idea is you reduce the opponents attack by up to like 33% I believe, essentially acting like a permanent health boost. It is capped so you cannot reduce their attack to 0%.

This also let you throw as many specials as you want however, you will not have the pure raw damage of a suicide set up.

Many people will also put in three ranks of despair since despair reduces health gain per debuff you apply and you’re already applying them so it just seems like a natural fit.

Notable masteries for the set up,

will power 1 rank (many people run more)

Iniquity and resonate at rank 3

(For max damage reduction)

Parry, stupefy and pacify at 3 ranks

(to get the most out of your stun)

Sometimes Despair( to prevent healing)

Sometimes deep wounds

( to make bleeds last longer)

2. Suicide set up. (I know you weren’t interested, but I’m gonna go over the basics anyway.)

This essentially gives a permanent 60% boost to all attacks at the cost of damage when the fight starts and damage for each special you throw.

It is centered around the liquid courage mastery(which applies a poison to u) and the double edge mastery(which applies a bleed) and the recoil mastery(which does damage to u when you throw a special)

There are many champions that can get around these negatives, however, and turned them into a positive. Characters that are resistant, but not immune are especially sought after because they take reduce damage from the bleed or poison, which allows them to heal from it and that offsets the recoil damage.

One of the other key masteries is the willpower mastery which is almost required to be at 3 ranks, so you heal from the debuffs applied to u.

However, this is varies from character to character or a require a lot of healing pots to mitigate the damage.

Other notable mastery is coagulate, which reduces the duration of any bleed applied to you, which does include the one from this mastery.

Other than that, this is a pure offense strategy so any offensive mastery is usually pretty good and can be tailored to your specific needs.

3. Mystic dispersion.(otherwise referred to as MD.)

This one is often mixed with the other two but sometimes is a quasi standalone, which is why I listed it here. It is specifically for Mystic, champs only, but can be quite potent. This mastery gives you a percentage of power for each buff nullified or prevented on the opponent.
There are many mystics that can literally spam all of their specials, practically back to back if they have max ranks. Often not even max rank is required to do that depending on character used.

It is only five ranks so that leaves the rest of your points to split up however, you choose it is mixed in with one of the other two in some variation for when people wanna go Mystic heavy.

4. Other builds

As a note on other builds, some people will do a collar Tech build much like a Mystic dispersion build, but that is for tech champion in order to prevent the opponent from gaining power or burn it away completely. 5 ranks

Many will do an assassin + parry build with the idea that they’re reducing the ability, accuracy enough that defensive abilities don’t trigger.

I bring these up here because they’re not quite as common and usually require a more specific champion roster to really take advantage of them, the other builds are more common and fit just more characters
