Battlerealm Brawl Tournament Format
Greetings Summoners! We’re excited to announce to you all the structure for the upcoming Battlerealm Brawl tournament at Summoners Fest 2025.
First stage - Round Robin:
To kick off the tourney, we’ll be splitting competitors into 2 groups, decided based on the placement they qualified in. Those groups will then each play a Best of 1 - Round Robin against all other players in their Group. The results of these matches will determine the seeding for the upcoming bracket stage of the tournament.
Winning a match in the group stage will result in that competitor gaining 1 point. Seeding of the group will be determined via point totals. In the event of a tie, we will then look at the number of rounds lost (if player A won all their matches 2-0, and player B won all their matches but had any 2-1 wins they would lose the tie-breaker). If there is still a tie past this point, we’ll use the number of points generated in each match as the final tie-breaker.
Because we’ll have so many matches to get through in the group stage, not all will be played on stream. Each set of players can expect to have one match on the Main Stage/stream during this portion, but most matches will be played off stream with results relayed onto the stream later.
Second stage - Bracket:
After the Round Robin, seeding for the Bracket will be determined, and players will then be placed into the single-elimination Knockout bracket.
Bracket seeding will follow:
- Bracket Side 1:
- Group A 1st Seed vs Group B 4th Seed
- Group B 2nd Seed vs Group A 3rd Seed
- Bracket Side 2:
- Group B 1st Seed vs Group A 4th Seed
- Group A 2nd Seed vs Group B 3rd Seed
Competitors that win their matches will then proceed to fight the other winner from their side of the bracket, then continue on to the finals, where they will compete against the winner of the other side of the bracket.
The bracket stage will all be Best of 5 matches, and spans over both the Saturday and Sunday of the event.
Deck Building:
This year, we’ll be introducing OMEGA POOLS as the unique wrinkle to deck building. Omega Pools are made up of 4 high-performing Battlegrounds Champions from each class, and Competitors will be restricted in the number of total Omega Pool Champions they can draft. Competitors can draft 6 Omega Pool Champions for the Group Stage, and Day 1 of the Bracket. Then they will draft an additional 3 Omega Pool Champions for Day 2 of the Bracket.
In addition to this, we’ll be enabling nearly every Champion as a 7-Star for this event. There’s a few restrictions on this with Quake, Magik, and the November champions Spider-Man (Pavitr Prabhakar) and Lizard being excluded from the event.
However, others like Hulkling, Kingpin, and other top performers will be available for use as 7-Stars. All Champions used will be 7-Star Rank 4 Sig 200.
