Kicked out of Incursions

I was on zone 10 of symbiote incursions when I took a break. When I restarted the game I clicked on 'rerurn to lobby' which should have taken me to continue my incursions run. But it kept on taking me to the game home screen again and again. So I restarted the game but this time I was totally out of the incursions and it was asking me to restart the incursions again. Did I do something wrong or is it just one of those issues from the game itself?

By "took a break", do you mean close the game normally, force close it, or leave it as it is?
