New event quest rules feel punishing for skilled, smaller-roster Paragon players
In Paragon Elder difficulty, you’re now required to switch champions after every fight. Meanwhile, in Thronebreaker Elder, you can use the same 5 champions throughout the entire quest.
I reached Paragon mostly through skill (+ easy WEAPON paths lol) rather than roster size, so I don’t have enough champions or counters to swap every fight. I’m confident I could clear the each chapter of the event quest using just 2–3 champions that counters the nodes and I didn’t have to constantly rotate them.
What’s worse is that Thronebreaker Elder actually gives better rewards than Paragon Elder, even though Paragon is supposed to be the harder tier. I realized this by comparing the rewards I would get at the same prestige across the two story milestones. Right now, it feels like the system punishes skilled players who advanced far without a huge roster.
If I had known this, I might have delayed pushing to Paragon and stayed in Thronebreaker — currently, it feels like you’re rewarded more for having a large roster than for skill.
Kabam, please review this system — or at least consider removing the requirement to switch champions after every battle for Paragon/Valiant. Thank you!
