Just wanted to say “Nice Job” on the VTD/Egg Relic content
Hello, everyone — hope all is well.
I know this game has ups and downs, sometimes lasting for months, both ways. It’s more than 10 years old, and sometimes it’s awesome and sometimes the decisions made are baffling and frustrating.
I try to be fair. I generally post the most about Buffs/Reworks/Kits, and generally those posts are when I like what Kabam has done. (Solvarch is good! People still ban mine more than I want! 😅😅)
But I generally don’t post much about content because I’m just a B-level player. There are better players than me in this game, always have been, and some of those players have YouTube channels and they are far better at explaining exactly what to do and look for in quests and Everest content than I am.
Today, I am making an exception because I really like what Kabam did with the Cosmic Egg/Venom the Duck content.
See, this game is best when people actually play as many characters as THEY LIKE TO PLAY.
That is different than ranking up/playing a kit that YOU NEED TO PLAY because it is meta relevant or a hard counter to a nasty kit or boss or node.
Before today, I had a 6r1 Venom the Duck just sitting there. I wasn’t particularly interested in learning how to use it or rank it up. No reason other than the fact there’s hundreds of characters in the game! I think I do a decent job of testing as many kits as I can and I rank up some different ones all the time, but that kit was one I just never got into.
I understand what Brian Grant means to a lot of people in the community, and I think it was a really great idea for he and Kabam to take aspects of his involvement with the game and create a closed set of in-game activities where players could see the objectives, understand exactly what was needed to do to meet those objectives, and get the kits/relics AT MULTIPLE RARITIES.
I say that last part because you’re working for that 7-star, folks. It ain’t impossible (I used Overseer, Solvarch and Juggernaut) but Kabam rarely gives 7-stars away easily, and you gotta lock in to get that Venom the Duck and Cosmic Egg.
Not impossible, but not easy.
I just wanted to write a little and say that this was good content. It was fair, it was easy to understand, it was accessible to different kits to handle the challenges in the fights. You need some skill — intercepting to get guaranteed cries is fair. You should be able to do stuff like that to grab a 7-star just by playing.
The rewards were good in this regard: It will encourage some people to take a look at Venom the Duck. Just for playing the game.
There are SO MANY solid characters in this game that just need a little help, like with the Cosmic Egg for Venom the Duck, and then people can give it a try in content and hopefully some people will use them more often.
That’s what this game does when it is at its best: Challenges you to do a few fights, gives rewards that encourage people to try new kits and develop new skills and strategies.
Nice work, by all involved.
Now I gotta learn how this kit actually works…which is part of the fun, you know?
Thanks for reading!
