Huge missed opportunity

With the new ascension post (whether or not you think it's to quell anxiety before the sale)
I feel like it was a big missed opportunity to not announce that Yondu, Super Skrull, and the banquet champs will be able to be ascended.
It immediately tanks their value drastically. I dont see why many players would want to chase and pay for these champions if we can't get them to the highest power level for who knows how long.
Bad move to do right before the sale imo. The main chase has been devalued

I don’t know if it fully tanks the value of Yondu, etc (SS has no value as far as I’m concerned). But maybe my understanding of how ascension relates to r5 and r6 power levels is incorrect. I assumed that we will mostly be focused on rank 5 mats, etc for the near future. And that while we are chasing that stuff, the 7 star ascension-eligible champs will be slowly rolling out.

Re Mike’s post, I’m confused by the special ascension crystal that we will form from shards when we dupe seven stars. What’s actually delivered by this crystal? New champs that were previously unavailable? Or are we just earning the “right” to ascend a champ we might already own?

These Champions will live in the Ascension Base Pool. The exact method of acquisition for this Base Pool Crystal is still being determined, and therefore, we do not have shareable details at this moment."

I mean, it's not like we invest in champs with an eye toward the future or anything, so buying a bunch of rank-up mats and sig stones during the holiday events with this uncertain sword of Damocles hanging over our heads makes for a very fun anxiety-free experience.

Maybe I want to take Bullseye to R4 or use an AG on FAM or pour 180 sig stones into Red Guardian. Will any of these champs be in the 30 champ ascension pool? Who knows, go eff yourself, is basically Kabam's response.

That's flawed logic though. Just because, idk, Silver Surfer is ascendable and he's R4(.1) doesn't turn your R4 Kushala, or whoever, into trash and you can't use them anymore competitively.

Y'all act like some of your favorite champs will never be given ascension access.

And even then, let's say they DID release those 30 champs by name, and let's say they were all middle-of-the-road tier…would that really stop people from investing in their hard hitters/fav champs that can't be ascended yet? Press X for Doubt…

That's an extreme example. What if, on the other hand, someone wants to take a mystic champ to R4 sig 200, and is deciding between Kushala, Shathra, Spiral, and WWBN? And what if one of those mystics will be ascendable soon and the others not ascendable for months or even years? And what if this person has limited resources and is a highly competitive PvP player?

I'm not saying you and everyone else needs to worry about this. I think you basically can spend a high amount and don't really play the game that much. But for other players, especially those with limited resources and highly competitive, this really sucks…

One more concerning thing is what the value of the titan crystal will be, from what I read you'll only be able to ascend new champions if you get them in the featured valiant crystals but not in the titan (with lizard being the only exception), so why would I pay to get a titan to get new champs knowing that I won't be able to fully rank them up? Would be nice to know if new champions will eventually get added to the basic ascension pool with the other 30 champions or so and in that case after how much time it will happen.

Wait, I thought they said when announcing accension that, starting with Lizard, all new champs are ascendable. Are these champs not included for some reason?
