So our opponents get more bans than we do? T2 vs T1 war…

We got matched with an alliance whose rating is 56 points higher than us. They must be a tier 1 alliance, because they have 5 bans and we have 3.

Now we’re going into an already-tough matchup with a hand tied behind our back, we’re like to drop farther away from tier 1 in war rating, and it doesn’t appear that we even get tier 1 points for competing in this war.

Surely this can’t be how it’s supposed to be. Am I missing something?

Gee, if only there was a way for your tier 2 alliance to compete against my tier 2 alliance instead of each of us being elevated to tier 1 at a huge disadvantage.

Honestly, it'll sting to lose the war rating (we've worked really hard to reach tier 1) but if we knew we were guaranteed tier 1 points for this war, it would go SOOOOOOO far to ease the pain, as it would likely be the difference between a p3 finish and moving up to p2.

It seems like it negatively affects high t2 alliances while also giving an added buffer to t1 alliances.

3578 and matching with a 3634 that also finished 18th in AQ this week (we were 74…they’re 3,000 prestige ahead of us)

this situation is especially frustrating because we shouldn’t be matching with someone that far ahead of us, especially if others like the guy above are also getting dragged upward. We were marked as tier 2 going into the war. There’s no way to know you’re close to the cutoff (I’ve made multiple threads) and a 56 point gap is two whole war wins.

I’m left to conclude that this flaw in the system has turned tier 1 into that old George Carlin bit: it’s a big club and you ain’t in it.

War ratings should distribute normally and tier 1 should be part of the tail until the outliers at the very top. I am theorizing that if you plotted actual alliance war ratings, you’d have disproportionately few alliances along the tier 1 or 2 cutoff, because alliances getting matched upward into tier 1 get massacred, drop down, and continue to bump their head on this ceiling.

with 25,000 radiance per player on the line plus a tier 1 rating that would carry into next season, significantly increasing the odds of a platinum 2 placement next season, the complete lack of response is a real bummer.

update: we lost the war, lost the rating, we only got tier 2 points, had to fight with fewer bans with an alliance two full wars ahead of us on rating.

The t1 multiplier would’ve landed us in plat2 instead of plat3 so we don’t get the extra 25,000 extra radiance either.
