Foreword
Hey all, and welcome to another Changelog for
Season 63 of
Alliance War! We are coming towards the end of the year with a mode update that we are excited to bring back for the
Holidays. After we’ve taken a look at the last BIG THINGS run, we’ve decided to make some changes to the mode to further smooth out the experience at all levels.
So without further ado, let’s jump into the updates!
Map Changes
Due to the complexity of Marvel Contest of Champions, we had some teething issues with overly difficult encounters on nodes, as well as lower tier Alliances having trouble engaging properly with BIG THINGS due to picking unideal counters. Because of this, we wanted to reduce the complexity of certain Boss Nodes, as well as lift lower tier Alliances so they can properly engage with this new AW Event.
Firstly, let’s look at the new nodes that we have coming with this update to
BIGGER THINGS!BIG THING - CHALLENGE - DexterityWhen the Attacker Dodges a Basic Attack, they gain 1 Force Charge. Dodging a hit from a Special Attack grants 3 Force Charges.
FORCE Charge Grant - 1Gain 1 Force Charge every 10 seconds. Max stacks: 15.
FORCE Charge Grant - 2Gain 1 Force Charge every 12 seconds. Max stacks: 15.
FORCE Charge Grant - 3Gain 1 Force Charge every 15 seconds. Max stacks: 15.
Now that we have the new buffs that are coming into the map, let’s talk about the new designs we’re excited to showcase. Let’s start with

Power EfficiencyTo speak of these changes,
Node 1 we found had an RPG requirement that required too many clauses to work properly. With so many characters that can punish or box out intended counters that the node was originally designed for, we decided it was best to table the design and create an entirely new Gameplay oriented node instead. Now players playing into the node are focused on Dodging or Dexing attacks from the Defender to build up Force Charges, with
Stun Immunity in support to enforce the dodge / dex style of gameplay.
As for
Node 9, since we took Stun Immunity away from that node to enhance Node 1, we replaced it with
Power Efficiency to give shine to what the node is asking you to do (Punish Special Attacks, and Heavy Attacks). We believe this synergizes with Defenders better, and opens the door to a wide variety of interesting Defensive placements for players to engage with.
Now let’s talk about lower tier maps. We’ve reviewed the Data and read feedback regarding the difficulty of building up Force Charges at these lower tiers. Because for newer players, it may be difficult to understand who the best champion is to bring in to gain these Force Charges, we’ve decided that from Intermediate Maps and lower, players will be given an allowance of Force Charges (up to 15) to ensure they can play BIGGER THINGS as is intended. If players are able to figure out the correct action and RPG layer of these nodes, they will be able to earn more Force Charges to help defeat those
BIGGER THINGS. Each node at those lower Tiers will have the following Buff assigned to each Node…
Intermediate Maps
FORCE Charge Grant - 3Gain 1 Force Charge every 15 seconds. Max stacks: 15.
Normal Maps
FORCE Charge Grant - 2Gain 1 Force Charge every 12 seconds. Max stacks: 15.
Easy Maps
FORCE Charge Grant - 1Gain 1 Force Charge every 10 seconds. Max stacks: 15.
Alliance Event
It’s the Holiday Season and we want to make sure that players know what they are fighting for. So after reviewing some of the issues that we had with the original Solo Event, we have redesigned this event to make this a celebratory event with your Alliance Mates, focusing on players engaging in War. Work together as an Alliance to play BIG THINGS, using your
Alliance War Energy, and
getting to the end of the map to earn points for the new Alliance Event.
If you are a 1 Battlegroup Alliance, you will have the chance to earn rewards through the 3 Wars a week, which will take you over 4 weeks to earn all the milestones. However, if you want to line these rewards up with the upcoming Banquet, we suggest you try building a second Battlegroup to ensure you have the chance to get all the rewards to be used during the Holiday event.
