compensation for the crystal update bug. kinda unfair to the people who waited
Hello Kabam Team,
I’m writing not only on my own behalf, but on behalf of many frustrated members of the community regarding the recent compensation for the crystal update bug.
When the new champions failed to appear in crystals for the first hour after the refresh, players reacted in different ways. Some opened their crystals immediately, unaware of the bug. Others — including a significant portion of the community and several major content creators — waited for the issue to be fixed before opening anything.
With the compensation now delivered, there is a clear divide in the community, and it has caused a great deal of frustration:
Players who opened during the bug window received massive net gains: a full crystal refund on top of all the ISO, signature levels, shards, and opportunities at new champions they had already collected.
Players who waited for the fix — or simply planned to open later — received nothing at all.
This outcome has left many players feeling ignored, disadvantaged, and honestly, punished for doing what they believed was the right and responsible thing. It has created a perception that acting cautiously or waiting for official communication only leads to worse results, while opening immediately (even in a bugged state) is now the more advantageous path.
Across forums, alliance chats, and creator livestreams, the frustration is widespread. The community feels divided, demotivated, and worried that this sets a harmful precedent: that in future bugs — and we all know they are inevitable — players will be encouraged to exploit first and ask questions later.
None of us want the game environment to shift in that direction.
I respectfully ask that Kabam re-evaluate the compensation with the entire community in mind. Players who chose to wait were equally affected by the bug and should not be left at a disadvantage. Even a partial, balanced solution would go a long way toward restoring trust and unity within the player base.
Thank you for listening to the community’s concerns. We hope the team will take a closer look at how this has impacted players beyond just those in the bug window.
