Coliseum cost - energy or tickets

In a post created by KabamCrashed it was mentioned that the Coliseum entries are based on energy.

On my end the entries are based on some sort of tickets, not energy. What happens when those tickets are consumed? Do we get more each day? Do we get to spend energy? Or do we need to use units to get more Coliseum entries?

Any answer is much appreciated.
