Separate Coliseum Post
I liked my comment so much, I wanted to make it a post.
It seems like the real strategy is to just not play the mode because it's way too grindy and too much of a time sink due to the podium level system.
Also, some decisions made here baffle me, aside from the podium leveling.
Why was Adam Warlock chosen for the debut? He is notoriously annoying to fight, and his AI has always been bad on defense. You need him to throw Sp1's because his Sp2 takes way too long, but he has power gain, and the AI refuses to throw specials. It's a horrible experience. I can't believe people sat down and decided that Adam would be the boss, seriously.
Also why on earth would you decide for the FIRST TAGS for this debut to limit the pool to Northstar and Gentle? It makes absolutely 0 sense for a debut. It almost feels like you all wanted to make this the worst experience possible for everybody and for the mode to flop.
The first triple tag should have been higher-tier, better-performing, and more commonly ranked-up champions to ease players into the mode for their first time.
It doesn't matter if this is high-tier content. You don't need to start at 100. You could have started at 50 and made this better for everyone and yourselves. In most cases, with new features, no company would ever decide to dump everything on their customers at once in such a bad way like this.
Northstar does absolutely cook in this mode though but no one ranks him up so my point still stands there
