What if I want the GBC instead

Why is this locked? What if I wanted the GBCs instead of the SBCs? Picking the SBCs would give more points in the banquet event but worse rewards. But why is it locked?

You're backwards. GBC is a few more points with much worse rewards. Unless you're desperate for every point you can get, you only want SBCs.

Yes I know it doesn't make much sense and overall is worse for me to pick the GBCs, but not having the choice is kind of dumb. There is not much reason to pick the SBCs but if I did want them, this is kind of stupid to lock it

I believe the Jubilant Crystals can only appear in the Superior Crystal. Dont see them in the Greater when looking. For that reason I would never think about taking the Greater Crystals.

This is the correct answer. In the past so many summoners would pick by accident the worst rewards and came on the forums posting about it. I'm not sure why OP would want the lower reward crystal with worse rewards unless it's to be different.
