I was going to R4 Hulkling. Now I’m not so sure.

When I heard Hulkling was coming I was pretty happy - I definitely enjoy him as a champ, and I prefer dual threat champs. I had an R4 gem I had been holding and planned to use it on him.

Now that I’ve got him I’m having 2nd thoughts - there are so many counters to him now that he really only works on defense if you catch someone. So, if I look at him more from an offense standpoint he is still very solid but if I’m going to do a purely offense rank up Cull seems like a better call.

Obviously Hulkling is at R3 and I’m going to awaken him given how useful he is, but struggling to think about giving him a still relatively rare R4 vs. what seem like some better options in Cosmic.

Where have you all landed on him?

He does have counters, absolutely, but being as versatile as he is on attack, I think he is still absolutely worth the rank 4. And who knows, your opponent could get unlucky, or you set hulkling up to be a round 3 defender when they have no mystics left

I think Cull is a better attacker for BGs because he takes tougher matchups due to his true accuracy.

Hulkling on the other hand has some defensive value too if your opponent doesn't have a counter, so he's more versatile for BGs in that sense.

Far from what it used to be, and between his release and now he gets countered by a ton of mystics .. far from being a top 3.
