Goodbye 2025, Hello 2026: Suggestions For The Future of The Contest
I know I’m a day early for making this post (might be New Year’s Eve or New Years Day when reading this) but I went on ahead and decided to make this anyway. With 2025 closing and 2026 right around the corner, I would just like to say this year for the game and Kabam was….something. Some ups and downs but we still managed to pull through. Now, this general discussion isn’t just about me talking about how this year turned out, but more like a topic of ways for the Battlerealm to improve, and in this thread, I will offer up some of my personal thoughts or suggestions that could make the experience more fun and enjoyable.
A.I Improvement:
Yes, yes, I know that this is the most talked about subject and been the most ongoing topic at hand, but I’ll try not to sound rude nor too rash, but the A.I of the opponents is bad. And when it comes to some nodes or certain opponents vulnerabilities that require you to intercept, it’s more frustrating. For me the idea of intercepting wasn’t even an issue way back when but now with new nodes, champs, mechanics & other things, it gets annoying. But after the past livestreams, I’m looking forward to the improvements.
Arena Update:
Ok, I’ll be honest and blunt, arena grinding is time consuming and boring. I’ve been playing the game for a while now and I was there when the 1v1 arena was a thing and ever since then, I started to see the lack of arena love. Let’s be honest, we absolutely LOVE units and it’s by far the most interesting currency in the game that’ll get you lots of goodies, however, when it comes to arena grinding, it’s very time consuming and not very fun. What’s my suggestion? Well how about a permanent 20% arena boost that increase the amount battlechips and units from both after fights and the milestones? While in the arena, make express mode completely free, cause let’s be honest, everybody is busy in life, so why not make things much easier? That’s my thoughts.
Event Quest:
I’ll also be honest here, I do not like the new style of Event Quest. It’s too long and very time consuming and have to redo it about for up to 12 fights for Elder while also basing the rewards on your prestige. Me personally, I like the Gauntlet more than the new Event Quest style due to how short and simplistic it is. My suggestion is to bring back the Valiant Gauntlet while making the rewards, well, rewarding. I know this won’t happen but if it does, I would be satisfied.
Inventory Improvement:
This one is surprisingly interesting. So I’ll be frank, most of the inventory space on my account is all over the place, but one of my key frustrations is in the Other tab, there’s stuff that been in there after past events that hold no value. What’s my suggestion? Add the option to trade it in for an item of our choosing. On the same subject, make an option for rank up gems (5 star or lower) to also trade in or sell. That’s my take on it
Rewards Based On Progression:
Ok, now we’re getting into the spicy category and since I’ve been playing this game since 2016 and became Valiant in 2024, I have a good experience. But before I get on my rant, this is from a Valiant standpoint, so my perspective may differ from other players are still progressing, so keep that in mind. As I played the game, I enjoyed many forms of the Contest, however, as time went on doing certain pieces of content, I started to see that ALOT of the rewards seem….lackluster. I may sound stingy but at this level of progression, you should be rewarded with rewards that shows you deserve it, ya know? Just a recommendation for the future and upcoming last chapter of Act 9.
Additional Fight Slots:
I’ll keep this one short, since there’s 7 stars in the game, it should be fair to add an additional 2 more slots for a bigger team. That’s all.
Finally, My Last Suggestion:
I have a lot of other suggestions or changes that could help the game but this post is long enough, so I’ll close out with this. Kabam, my last suggestion, it’s to simply…..listen. Listen to the Summoners, listen to the community, listen to the pro Contest Players and actually understand some of our frustrations. I’ve been playing this game for years and I’ve seen the pros and cons, however, as much as I have a lot of negative thoughts about this game, I still love it and wish for it to survive many years to come. So instead with adding content after content, bundles after bundles, paywall after paywall & platinum pass about platinum pass, take a few steps back and think for a moment while talking to the Kabam team on how to make the game better for not just the whales or F2P, but for everyone. I want this game to succeed and prosper, but we can’t make that happen unless you listen. That’s my final suggestion
Man, that was a long yap session, but I hope I didn’t come off as too blunt, however I do hope that this discussion gains attention that the higher ups can see and understand my thoughts and opinions that could make the game even better for years to come.
