First Appearance Crystal

I took some time thinking about whether or not to post this, but after some consideration I’ve decided to do so.

Straight to the point, and frankly speaking, it annoys the hell out of me that I was given X-23 from the banquet, realm milestone reward - first appearance crystal. I’ve seen & heard so many people pulling Hulkling, Scorpion and Nimrod, and many of whom were ecstatic with their given first appearance champion. I don’t think it’s even a debate as to X-23 being the least desired champ of the 6.

Kabam, if this “first appearance” nuance is meant to be something special, then why not give the player the opportunity to select the champion (6 champs this banquet) that THEY would most like to show off in their roster, so to speak? I now have a shiny, duped first appearance champion who is going to sit at R1 because I have absolutely zero desire to rank her up. The RNG in this case might be kind to some players, but it certainly isn't always kind to others, and in my case I feel hard done by. I can almost guarantee you that given the choice out of 100 players, to select one of those 6 champs as a first appearance, little if any would put X-23 ahead of the rest on that list.

Overall a great banquet, imo a huge improvement over recent years, so kudos in that regard… this however left a sour taste in my mouth.

They did put shiny selector in rank reward, you have to earn that.
And give extra chance to players who are unable to reach that rank reward, this is bonus, and luck based whom you are going to pull, just like every other crystal in the game.

I feel ya, I pulled X-23 from a FA crystal I gained via a Jubilant. I was bummed but that’s the nature of the game. Everything can’t be BEST EVER. I’m just grateful I pulled one of the other champs from the FA milestone crystal. We just have to walk it off and move on. Everything Kabam gives us is a privilege. There are no entitlements. We knew the odds in advance and ended up with the least desired outcome come. Some players are thrilled with X-23. It is what it is. Good luck on your next roll.

I'm sorry you didn't get the champ you wanted from the RNG crystal and that it soured you a bit. I hear what you're saying, because I was quite fortunate enough to get a few of those First Appearance crystals from drops.

Imagine getting a dupe/awakening of a champ you already have as a first appearance, from a rare first appearance crystal. Yeah, happened to me more than once. Sucks, but that's the RNG of it. But that is also an aspect of the rarity and exclusivity behind Fire Appearance; sometimes we don't get the choice and can't get them all. I grumbled about it so much, but the fact that I couldn't easily get both Kingpin and Absorbing Man as a first appearance actually made the selector a real selector - I had to make a choice.

So the RNG crystals? Luck of the draw, some of us get champs that we probably wanted the least and yet others would probably kill for those same ones. Some of us get the same champ more than once, some of us don't get it at all.

Now none of that changes your experience, so again, sorry you were soured by it. Hopefully it doesn't linger, who knows, maybe there's more to do with First Appearance coming and you'll find more value in having a sparkling X-23 many people would absolutely love to have.

Unless you ranked up the First Appearance Miles Morales we got, then you’ll have TWO First Appearance Champs sitting near the bottom of your roster. They can be friends
