Would you benefit from a training map with relevant defenders?

I had an amazing time with the banquet. The roster has expanded and there is lots of rank ups material. Kabam gets an A++ for the last few weeks. Now let’s stay on a hot streak of improvements…

Kabam, please recognize that there are too many champs for the average person to master, unless we get a training map. We need something similar to what the CCP already has—being able to practice against relevant defenders.

It doesn’t even need to be permanent. Just help us feel like we are making educated decisions on our rank ups rather than feeling like we are in a cult of doing what YouTubers tells us to do because we cannot test it for ourselves.

I think Kabam would benefit. The more the player base feels like it’s possible to become an expert at a champ, the more engaged they will become. It’s like the Steelers paying for better gym equipment. The easier it is for the team to train, the more invested they are in winning.

Traditionally, training requires effort and time. Whales don't want to put any effort or time into the game. If the normies start becoming better than the whales even with their P2W advantage, they will just quit the game. Kabam doesn't want this.

This is an interesting point. And it’s probably true for some whales. But I also think a lot of whales are whales because they are competitive. And the competitive whales would spend harder if it was more efficient for them to train. I think most whales want to be good at this game—some of them are, and most of the others would be if they had a better training map.

It’s a win-win-win for Kabam, whales, and casual spenders

I asked about this in Vancouver and they said something along the lines of stay tuned. It is something we need soon.

ROL isn’t a good place to test a lot of new champs and with R5 here and ascension around the corner it’s only going to be useful as a battlegrounds simulator in regards to the health pool of the champs in it. 6 months from now when we have R5 ascended champions it won’t be a good test of any champ.

LOL/Abyss/Necro all have damage caps as well as nodes that make them ineffective places to test champs outside of long form content performance. Act content also doesn’t have mostly un-noded fights where we can test either.

A test map is something sorely needed

The normies are already better than the whales otherwise the BGs podium would be nothing but the biggest whales in the game every month. Even whale alliances are full of normies (in terms of spending) who have the skill to do what’s necessary to stay on top

I think a better option would be to implement the infinite health bar mechanic in practice mode. That way you can practice dexes with 2 and 3 stars so you'll have multiple chances without also immediately killing them

I agree we need it. I just can't see them updating it with new defenders immediately since that would be a detriment to their profits lol

I really hope this is talked about soon. I would love a map to be able to practice high health pool matchups against meta defenders, preferably with being able to choose nodes, but I would appreciate even a vanilla testing map
