Ascended 6★ vs 7★ After Banquet – Too Big a Gap?

With the recent Banquet bringing more 7★ R4s into the game, ascended 6★ champs now feel capped, especially for players with deep 6★ rosters but limited 7★ depth.

Right now:
* 6★ R5 Ascended ≈ 7★ R3
* 7★ R4 pulls far ahead in stats, health, and AW/BG impact
* 7★ R5 start coming

Ascension helped, but faster 7★ progression seems to have compressed the overlap between tiers. This feels less like a skill issue and more like a progression pacing issue.

Not asking for nerfs or rollbacks — just wondering if there’s room to:
* Further extend ascended 6★ value (double ascension, sig scaling, or limited upgrades), or
* provide small, controlled ways to keep invested 6★ rosters competitive

Might be worth discussing small ways to keep high-investment 6★ rosters relevant.

Whenever a new star rating level, there is a tipping point where you just stop investing in the lower star rating. This is the progression of the game. Ascension was there to ease the transition to 7 stars, not stop them. So the answer isn't to counter this progression with more 6* ascension, but to embrace the change. Let go of the 6 stars like many have this past year. It's 7 stars for the future.

Ascension wasn't meant to keep 6* rosters relevant indefinitely, but rather to keep them relevant for a period of time into the life cycle of 7*. The game is no longer in a place where 6* rosters are meant to be competitive, and to make any changes in that direction wouldn't be healthy for where the game is headed.

7* crystals are handed out like free candy these days, even at an excessive pace to low progressions, so it's not like players are handicapped to fall behind with their 6* roster because they're not getting 7* champs.

6* ascension accomplished its goal and kept those champs relevant for a good couple of years, but that's all it was ever meant to do. Much like 5* and 4* champs, the game has moved away from them.

6 Star ascension when introduced was to make those 6* locked characters still relevant at the time and for a healthy chunk of time afterwards.

But who were the 6 stars I was ascending? My Kitty, Scorpion, Hulkling, Future Ant-Man, Absorbing Man, Kingpin, Fury…

These champs are all available as 7*s now. And the 7*s have become easily ranked up to r4 at this point, with the big whales beginning to see their first r5's.

6 star ascension is still relevant for new and developing accounts, but they were a helpful "leg up" for a time but most of us have moved past that, as has the game.
