Remove BG Ban Options
Remove the ban phase from Battlegrounds.
Right now, bans aren’t accomplishing what they were designed to do, because the division matchmaking is broken. When Battlegrounds first launched, banning 3 champions was meaningful—you could remove a few problem defenders and actually shape the match. Now, you ban three and it barely matters, because the opponent still has an absurd bench of replacement meta defenders anyway: Onslaught, Enchantress, Serpent, Bullseye, Jean Grey, Yelena Belova, and a pile of other 2025 power picks. The “strategy” is basically cosmetic.
If the division matchmaking is broken, then let’s stop pretending bans make it fair. Someone with barely one R4 7-star on their Battlegrounds roster should not be in the same division as someone whose entire roster is R4 7-stars at sig 200. That isn’t competitive integrity—it’s a system failure.
So either fix the division matchmaking so bans matter again, or remove bans entirely and let players face whatever roster the opponent has. It would also make matches quicker and cut the unnecessary pre-fight friction in a mode that’s supposed to be fast, competitive, and skill-based.
