Solo Colosseum or Epoch-Style Content?

I wanted to make this poll because there hasn't been Everest content since Wheel of Fate, and this seems like the replacement for right now. I don't see Colosseum as more fun than Necropolis or Epoch of Pain.

My biggest gripe for me is how grindy it feels. I think the main response would be to play different champs for it, but if your goal is to get the highest score and therefore more rewards, then you would stick to the best counter for that fight.

It just doesn't feel the same as finally soloing a boss fight in Epoch to me at least. What do you guys think?

Coliseum isn't even grindy. It's 8 rotations where you take about 10 health bars each turn. Probably around 30 minutes total once every two weeks.

Not sure why we haven't had new end game content in a while. I know that WoF, even though I enjoyed it, was probably a failure due to all the complaints from lesser players.

Their goal seems to be doing the same with less resources, if I had to guess. Coliseum is fine but it’s a couple hours of engagement over a whole month. It’s a nifty game mode, the structure and everything is fine. But once the system is built it’s gotta be efficient as hell to just drop in four fights that were already created for previous content. Kind of weird that one coliseum fight every two weeks is supposed to be the featured content right now.

The disco arcade thing is more of the same. Probably very cheap to rent the plugin from a third party and then it supposedly fills some gaps in their game content.

Lesser player's grievances do not affect endgame content's difficulty. The devs determine how hard a content is supposed to be. There will be complaints no matter how hard/restricted something is. It's always been the case.

For example: Ares, He is considered great boss by many. He is not someone an average joe can do under 10+ revives per run. Ask the players who are facing him right now. they'll tell you how fun he is. The whales throw revives, the skilled counts their revives, even if they have 100, every revive hurts them, and the 'lesser' either invests time building a revive stash or just throw units.

While the colisium rewads are very relevant atm, the difficulty isn't. It's not satisfying and too easy. No revives. Only refills. And maybe extra time.

The sop was a big success. And "every single fight" was followed by complaints, you can quote me on that. But it was somehting to look forward to for a large portion of players. We planned, we ranked up champs. The objetives had multiple options. Many people learned how to fight a defender or the value of a random forgottenattacker just becuase of those fights.

For me, Coliseum is.… just mid. (Both solo and alliance)

I’m annoyed with this new arcade thing. Why do we keep getting these odd side games no one asked for? We need new end game content. I’ve never posted on forums and I’ve been playing MCOC for 8 years so I’m not someone always complaining. The game is getting repetitive!

Well, player grievances did result in the new EQ being made less difficult, Act content being a walk in the park, and (I think) the lack of new endgame content.

It's just the new breed I think. I mean, we have idiots with R5 champs hanging out in Celestial who probably couldn't complete the original Act 6 with a full roster of 7R3s….

I won't comment on skill or the whaleness factor lol. There are skilled whales and there are "lesser" skilled whales. The pot is filled with the mix. Skilled whales are the scariest.

And like what i said, acts and eq are not endamger's delights.

Next time we get an actual endgame content (hard/restrictive) the words we will see thrown around in forums are going to be unfair and BS. Example ccp carinas, msd's reverse contorls path in necro, ares boss, wof and so on.

I prefer solo coliseum.

I get that everest content like epoch is needed to reward and challenge those players who spend significant time/money in this game. The people in that category have extensive practice against defenders in a wide variety of nodes and do better in epoch. It should absolutely be rewarded.

Solo coliseum however, provides a nice alternative of fighting the same fight and node repeatedly until you conquer it. Basically, having everest content that allows you to fight the same defender repeatedly until i get good at it, is great for more casual players.

I need real endgame content. Coliseum is cool, but it's boring. Fight the same defender a few times, get points, wait another week and a half for the next one.

Where? So far the best attackers have been meta champs. Sure you can test whoever you want and use whoever you want, but I've yet to see a "non meta attacker" be among the best options when you just wanna get it done and over with, because again, doing the same fight a bunch of times is boring as hell.
