onslaught change

It’s not even stated in the patch notes that they changed how daunted interacts with protection, when it’s been over 2 year since onslaught’s release it seems like a ridiculous thing to do. Daunted has always worked in an additive sense up until this update so why change it now?

Yeah hold on this is real. They totally did change Daunted’s interaction with Protection. Just tested it. Used to be able to plow through DThanos’s Protection using Onslaught’s Daunted, now he’s shut out.

For those uninitiated, Daunted used to stack additively with Protection effects, rather than being a separate multiplier. For example, say an opponent has 90% Protection but 50% total Daunted potency. Instead of 100% (base) - 90% (Protection) = 10% damage taken, and then Daunted multiplies that by 1.5 to 15% during Specials (still bad), it’d be 100% (base) - 90% (Protection) + 50% (Daunted) = 60% damage during Specials (way better).

Why wasn’t this in the patch notes? This is a fairly big change. Onslaught (and other Daunted champs) really benefitted from this mechanic, if this was gonna be changed it should have been communicated. Besides DThanos, I used this mechanic to beat down Destroyers in War on the Protection - Intercept node, since Onslaught largely didn’t care if he couldn’t safely disable the Protection.

previously daunted could go through protection, it would work as such, protection potency - daunted potency during specials, it was an additive equation, whereas now the protection is a net thing, so +100% damage taken from daunted is just multiplied by 0, making you do no damage through protection. Sorry if that’s explained poorly, TLDR is daunted used to work through protection, and now it doesn’t.
