How will the protection change affect parry?

Parry reduces all block damage by a flat 25% at max rank so when combined with champions that have at least 75% block proficiency (which there A LOT of) you could get "perfect parries" where you would take 0 damge.

After the change to protection, will this no longer be the case because this is a MASSIVE nerf to EVERY champion since EVERYONE uses parry and not just to those who had 75% block proficiency.

If this is the case, Kabam seriously need to consider revising this change.

The change has already been implemented. You can literally just check it out and see if it still works.

I tried it with r17* professor x. I have both parry and the block proficiency mastery maxed out. I did a practice right against the same champion to avoid challenger rating issues.

He had 75.8% bp initially but was not able to perfect block. I added a stat focus which added 1.7% and afterwards he was able to perfect block.

I tried it with a few champs and that’s not how it works. Even sig 200 guardian still takes damage on parry.

You can't go off the percentage they show in the stats screen. That only applies to when your facing a maxed out 4* so if you tested against 7* rank 4, the block proficiency percentage is quite a bit lower because of how challenger rating works. Also you have to bear in mind block penetration stat focus if you're testing in a practise fight

If you tested against someone in practise mode with block penetration, a sig 200 guardian doesnt have enough block prof to reach the 75% threshold.

I may have been mistaken saying there are a lot of champion who can perfect parry but it doesn't take away from the fact that after the update, if it works the way i think it does, everyone will still be taking more damage on parries.

Here's a vid from 5 years ago where with the Guardian synergy a few champs could get to the 75% threshold and take 0 damage on parries. With the update this will no longer be possible.
