Initial thoughts on Blue Marvel?

CCP videos are out and we officially have gameplay of Blue Marvel. Keep in mind though, the CCP maps don’t have masteries or even nodes to deal with so this is not 100% accurate. However, your initial thoughts?

Feels like the design philosophy was to make a worse and more useless version of photon, and considering they’re both DLL champs, or at least I’m pretty sure they are, it feels very uninspired. How are you going to copy your OWN homework 🤦‍♀️

okay I saw seatins video and Personally this character looks a bit .. boring to me? The ramp is long even after a few fights the dished out damage is “okay” after.

Hmm he really is designed for an unannounced Everest content I assume.

The damage does add up over time, as long as you stack cruelties and precisions with Sp2s, but I do think he’s meant for that type of content. Could he do short fights? Yeah but not the fastest

Well they are designed to be two different champs, so they are going to have differences. I wouldn’t say he’s a “useless” version of Photon considering that Blue Marvel excels in long form where Photon does not

Personally, I kinda still want him though, he is gonna be useful

He seems more tailored to long individual fights than over long quests. Sentry is probably stronger over a long quest like incursions but blue marvels cross fight ramping doesnt seem to be as strong since you still need time in the individual fights to ramp but when hes in his big damage nice he seems kinda wild damage wise.

Why would I ever spend 3 minutes in single fight or 6 separate fights ramping someone when their payoff is like Stellar Forged Star lord? Blue Marvel hit both of these on the head. If i have to spend a minute MINIMUM ramping you, you need to hit HARDER than your peers. I can pause a right for a minute with okoye to simulate fighting with Blue marvel

Blue Marvel is meant for long fights and endgame content like it was established but i do wish he and other ramp up champs are allowed to start with some of their ramps in BG. I made a post about this like a week ago but it really makes no sense why Cull Obsidian is allowed 3 or 4 of his Thanos favors while other ramp up champs aren't given the same treatment.

wish his debuffs provided real utility. Wish his miss counter was viable. Wish he could get more power since you have to spam specials. Kushala, Blue Marvel, and Vulcan are probably the 3 characters I wanted most since I started playing this game. Kushala turned out awesome, but BM seems like Sentry 2.0. I’m gonna rank him for vanity sake because I like the character, but he’ll collect dust on the bench in his current iteration. When DLL mentioned him somewhere, he said he thought he found the perfect balance between Photon and Serpent’s ramps. I was excited by that statement. I personally feel that mark was missed. Hopefully Kabam agrees (at some point this year) and adjusts a character so many of us have been wanting for years.

Star lords ramp takes 20 hits and he already hits 15k mediums. He finishes rol fights in 30 seconds. You wouldnt know that because you spend all your time typing in forums instead of finishing content. I suggest you spnd less time forming opinions and more time actually testing champions. Im guessing only one of us here has Blue Marvel at r4 right now…

photon absolutely exceeds in long form content, you dont see her max ramp most of the time, 3 sp3s let her go up to 40 charges, and her damage is absolutely fit for long form content at that ramp. Those 8 furies give ~2.7k attack rating each, which is roughly 21.6k. Whereas blue marvels attack rating increase from stable release is 12.6k. These are both r5 stats so equal rank. Even without the sp3 her attack rating is STILL higher at 2.7k x 5 which is 13.5k. Not to mention her base attack is 9,188 whereas his is 8,018. I don't think theres a single reason to touch blue marvel besides prestige, and hes not even a good defender, whereas photon is a dual threat.
