ASCENSION+ SO FAR
Greetings Summoners!
A few months ago, we announced the upcoming new feature: 7 Star Ascension.
Over time, we have been revealing details of the feature as they have been finalized and locked in, and this post is meant to encompass all previously revealed information into one cohesive post.
For starters, let’s go over the 3 Ways to get 7 Star Ascended Champions on release.
Ascension+ Base Pool:
These are Champions earned from specific Crystals that grant these Champions as both 7 Stars, and with their A1 Materials, in a new Reward format called “Cluster Drops.” When a Champion is pulled from a Cluster Drop for the first time, these Ascension materials are consumed automatically and they are Ascended to Rank 1.
These are the Champions in the 7 Star Base Pool at launch:
When the 7-Star base pool debuted a few years ago, we gave Summoners reason to prioritize some Champions who hadn’t been as valuable lately - overall, this evolution of value was positive, and we aim for the same to be true with the 7-Star Ascension base pool now. In addition to their individual desirability, we’ve also spent even more time setting up a group of Champions who are interesting because of how they operate as a group. Questions like “Who are Champions that haven’t really been prevalent at the same time but who play well together?” and “What are some simple Class identities on which we can build the next level of Power?” ultimately led us to the goal of establishing an RPG ecosystem that is rich with interaction and novelty.
Additionally, about 33% of these Champions are getting tune ups to go alongside their release to the Ascension Launch Pool. If you want to read more about what went into the creation of this pool, check out our Class Reveal posts from the past few weeks!
As time goes on, more Champions will be enabled for Ascension in various ways.
Super-Duper Ascension Box:
This is a Box with 6 Champions in it, getting one of the Champions gives you the 7 Star Champion AND their A1 Materials. This is the only place in the game to get the Ascension+ Materials for these Champions. Once you pull one of the Champions, they cannot be pulled again until you acquire all 6.
You can only get shards to open this box from getting 7 Star Duplicates. You get bonus shards for Max Sig 7 Star Duplicates specifically from the Titan Crystal
The Champions in this Box are:
Brand New Champions with Standard Release:
New Champions released in the Featured Champion Valiant Grace Crystals will now drop in Cluster Drops, containing their 7 Star alongside Ascension Materials. If they are not at A1 the materials will be consumed to place them at Ascension Rank 1 automatically. The Grandmaster’s Grace system will also reward them with their A1 Materials
ACTIVE RETROACTIVE ECONOMY REWARDS (RER):
We currently have two forms of RER running.
New Featured Champions:
All Brand New Standard Released Featured Champions from Lizard onward will be enabled for Ascension. If you pull one of these 7 Star Champions from their Featured Champion Valiant/Paragon Grace Crystal, you will be rewarded their A1 Materials shortly after Ascension+ releases.
For every additional pull, you will receive their A1 Materials again. Earning these Champions from other sources will not grant the A1 Materials, however there are some special exceptions:
These include:
- Doctor Strange counts as a “Brand New Featured Champion.”
- Lizard will provide an additional Lizard Token for every pull from any source before the launch of Ascension.
- If you earned Spider-Man (Pavitr Prabhakar) from the past Double Track Event, you will also be granted his A1 Materials shortly after release.
So far, these are the confirmed Champions that you will get RER rewards for through this method:
- Spider-Man (Pavitr Prabhakar)
- Lizard
- J. Jonah Jameson (Spider Slayer Mech)
- Doctor Strange
- M'Baku
- Blue Marvel
Super Duper Ascension Shards
For every 7 Star Duplicate since Nov 20th 2025, you will receive Super Duper Ascension Shards shortly after Ascension+ Releases. Max Sig Titan Crystal 7 Star Dupes will give additional shards.
These shards are the ONLY way to open the Super Duper Box.
The Champions in the Box are the ones listed above under
Super Duper Ascension Box.Retroactive Rewards for the Super Duper Pool will start being sent out to Summoners this week! Keep in mind, they won’t be able to be used until the Box goes live. RER for featured Champions will be sent shortly after the Feature is live.
ASCENSION POWER LEVEL:
Each rank of Ascension increases Attack and Health.
7 Star Ascension will have 11 individual Ranks, and at launch, the first two will be available.
Combined, the first two ranks grant slightly less than one typical rank of a Champion.
This means that an Unascended, Rank 5 Champion is a little bit stronger than a maxed out Rank 4, Ascension Level 2 Champion in terms of Attack and Health.
Unlike 6 Star Ascension, each rank of 7 Star Ascension also increases Challenge Rating (CR).
The first two ranks of Ascension each grant roughly the same CR as one standard Catalyst rank.
This means if that same Unascended, Rank 5 Champion fights against that Rank 4 A2 Champion, they will be fighting against a higher CR, and various combat stats will be diminished as a result.
ISO BURST
Ascended Champions also have access to Might/ISO-Burst. Might and ISO-Burst increase damage output, but whether or not that damage is more than what you get from a Rank depends on how you play. Throughout the fight, your Might bar will slowly increase over time, and when the maximum threshold is reached, Iso-Burst will activate automatically, increasing your damage until the meter runs out.
It goes without saying that an Ascended Rank 5 is the clear strongest, but Champion abilities still matter, and that raw power may not be enough to overcome other challenges in The Contest.
Our intention is for Rank 5 and Rank 6 Champions to be competitive for the foreseeable future, even if that specific Champion does not yet have access to Ascension. On the flip side, Ascending Champions who aren’t at the current max available Rank can keep them competitive against higher-ranked Champions.
We hope this helps clarify everything going on with 7 Star Ascension. There are a lot of things coming, and we understand that it can be a bit confusing at times. We have even more changes planned around the full release of Ascension+, and in the future with Collectives waiting in the wings - and we’re excited to share the final details with you later this week!
