Is 7* Ascension Acquisition worst then New Rarity Champions Acquisition?

So back in the day, when 7* first launch.

Players would play MCoC, complete content and be rewards with 7* shards this would enable players to acquire new higher rarity (stronger) champions.

E.g, if you have 6* Onslaught, you can collect 7* shards just by playing the game and get 7* Onslaught based on crystal RNG

However with the 7* Ascension, the only way (as of right now at the launch). The only way for any players to acquire the new higher level (stronger) champions is by buying Feature Crystals (Valiant / Paragon).

E.g, if you want Blue Marvel taken to up the new power level, you have to get him from his Feature Valiant / Paragon crystals.

So essentially the next power level (that temporarily replacing 8*) is lock behind paywall?

For BRAND NEW standard release champions, that's how to acquire them.
You could not have a 6 Star Onslaught and then pull a 7 Star Onslaught via Crystal Shards on his release date.

This is ultimately how it was for new Champions released into the 7 Star Pool as well - they were tossed into the Titan Crystal later on down the line and were rather exclusive at the start.

I appreciate your reply, and you are completely correct in that, new champions are exclusive from Feature crystals and occasional Special offer for a certain period of time.

The different is that, those champions would then be available in the Titan crystals, between 1 to 6 months time.

However from the information we got so far, Ascension materials are lock in at Feature crystals only.

It would be the same if Ascension material were available when we pull those champions from Titan crystals, but that is not the case.

So New champions Ascension 7* is lock behind paywall with no other accessing it.

i think the bigger concern which i could have read the announcement wrong. But lets say i dont have corvus from the super duper pool. When i pull him he will be r1a. Which then we still need to rank ups to get him to r4. Versus when the last power level was released you only had to acquire the shards and pull the champ.

Well, we don't know when new champions will become ascendable outside of the paywall/valiant grace crystal system. I assume the new champ ascension opportunity will take longer than it takes for regular release champs to join the titan pool, but we just don't know at this point.

And there is no guarantee that the secondary ascension acquisition method for new champs won't also be behind a paywall. It's not like there is going to be an ascension titan crystal which contains ascensions for all the new champs in the titan pool. Or at least, I highly doubt that there will be such an ascension titan system, especially anywhere close to the normal titan timeline.

But I guess I'm not too worried about it because the valiant grace crystal system is so expensive that if the biggest spenders get rewarded with ascensions, so be it. It's not in my budget to chase that, but kudos to the players who want to spend such large amounts of money and keep the game running in the process.

For many champs, ascension will be like lipstick on a pig.

Most people don't have most of the ascendable champs at Rank 4. That is the point I guess.

Totally agree with this. Probably 10% of the ascension pool are champs I want to play

@Kabam (Osaurus) Rex what will happen when a new champ joins to basic pool?, will I be able to get his ascencion resources from basic cristals?.

Since the assension will be gated to pay methods, I think is time for you to changue the cadence in wich champs are added to basic pool, maybe 4 months instead of 1 year, on this way your wallets still having the adventage against f2p or lower spenders players.

I’m okay with it because if you could just automatically ascend every new champ you get from the titan crystal then most of the ascended champs in the launch pool wouldn’t be used. This way the champs that aren’t at the top of the meta can shine, meanwhile the current meta champs won’t fall behind since the new champs won’t be easily ascendable either.

Is this not concerning to the game eco, imagine how BG will be?
