Thinking about ranking up another Science defender. Thoughts on Modok and Rhino?

I’m thinking about ranking up a new Science defender, primarily for Battlegrounds.

I’m looking at Modok (who I could potentially awaken) or Rhino (who I also could awaken). Anyone got them at R3 or R4 and how good a BGs defender have they been for you?

Karnak kicks both these guys teeth in.

Pretty much everyone I know has a rank 4 godnak so I'd steer clear of these two as defenders.

I personally think Rhino’s more annoying and has more defensive threats

Rhino hands down and it’s not even close, I have both at r4 and at one point MODOK stops being a great defender and becomes just a bit of a staller but he goes down eventually. Rhino is not only a harder staller but when he’s fully ramped he can be a bit of a pain in the ass if you don’t know what you’re doing or if you get bad AI.
In response to that one comment above a) Karnak takes about 50 secs with no nodes b) I have seen more r4 SF Star Lords than Karnaks and I’m already in Mysterium lol c) there are way faster Rhino counters which a lot of people do have like Stealthy BPCW Valk HM etc and d) this is like saying Karolina can take Zola in 45 secs = Zola is useless take him off your deck (makes literally zero sense)

Anyways yes, overall Rhino is the better champ objectively.

Not necessarily, I have mine at r4 unawakened however if you truly want to prevent him from getting nuked even by some skill nukes then yes you do want him max sig, and of course inequity mastery maxed. He’s worth that r4 even unawakened imo tho.

Well, he can kinda do Britain in 60-70 secs but other than that not really lol pure defender. Britain is the only matchup where I’ve ever used him because I couldn’t draft a counter for her.

I have rank4 modok and he is pain in butt on stun immune node... Else he is useless, sometimes good as good attacker

Rhino is a pure asss .... I'm thinking to rank 4 him

I have both 6 stars R5

M.O.D.O.K. would be my choice as he is great as Attacker and Defender

He surprises rivals on BG ,as only some Summoners as me have him on BG Deck. The auto parry is great.

I would choose Rhino if mine was 7 stars R3...

I think you can probably say that he has a non-zero use on attack, but it's not what you're taking him in for.

Still, he's got a consistent Taunt, which might be useful occasionally. Just be sure to avoid Annihilus...😁

Hands down MODOK, he is a good defender but also a very solid attacker. I have a r4 and use him offensively quite frequently. He's great for questing especially if you pair him with Mr sinister, but also very good in bgs if that’s what you mainly care about. I’ve done plenty of fights against various meta defenders, including Nico, Jean, spider woman, and kindred to name a few. Every single time I’m able to come out with above 80%, but more commonly 95+% in 50-80 seconds. Rhino is a good option too but nowhere near as useful on attack.

I have a rank 4 sig 200 rhino. He’s been one of my top defenders since I’ve put him in the deck.

The post says science defender not attacker or dual threat. MODOK requires metas with stun immunity to be a good defender, Rhini
