Why ranking up defenders for BG

What's the point of upgrading good defenders outside of war specifically for battlegrounds, when Kabam keeps deciding to invent nodes where every defender is a noodle, like in this mystic meta? Even science defenders are down within 30 seconds. Yeah, sorry, but you've completely lost me. This is the third meta in a row where every defender, regardless of whether it's Zola, Serpent, or Thing, is all down within 30 seconds.

Some defenders aren’t designed to go down in like 30 secs. For example, Deathless Thanos and Punisher are guaranteed stall threats if you don’t have counters. Even Dark Phoenix and Zola can take time without counters

the point is they are a lot more punishing if u make a mistake

like photon with starky/okoye, sure you can get 52k points, but one slip up and you end up 5 feet under, meanwhile if you ranked up Groot for defense he won’t really do much to you

Also most defenders can’t even be parried and rely on intercepts and AI RNG

Enchantress is still dangerous with her AI and random spells.. and so on

Normally I wouldn't say this, but man…..stop playing BGs. It's abundantly clear you're not having fun with it.
