So Nonspenders are being Punished for not buying Pavitr in the Plat Track?

For anyone that didn't get him from the Plat Track, they now can't ascend him until 2027 at the earliest, which seems absurd, given how many players would've skipped his Track knowing he was going to enter the Titan crystal.

Ascension already got a lot of negative stigma as is with not being able to ascend champs outside the pool until 2027/not being able to pick which ones in the pool, but how Pavitr was handled particularly just excludes an entire group of players.

I just wish they didn't mention in past livestreams that we'd expect to see less monetization in the game, when recent events including this, suggests the opposite. It leads to a Jaded effect and many players quitting as a result

I kinda don't agree with this statement. I wouldn't call it being punished. You just don't get the ascension period. Its a perk of spending the same as early access to any paid champ you had to wait for a year to join regular crystals.

People need to stop over victimizing themselves.

It's no different than everyone else who isn't going spend hundreds on the new champs being released. Once again, FTP has nothing to do with it. Many spenders don't buy everything.

I agree with your point but I think the frustration came from unclear communication. I don't think most people understood / expect that Pavitr won't be ascendable if they pull it from Titan. If Kabam made it clear from the beginning that Pavitr is only ascendable from plantinum track and NOT from a later Titan pull, people won't be as frustrated, as they made a clear choice and understood the consequnces. But I think a lot of people expected that getting Pavitr from plantinum track and from Titan will be same (other than they just have to wait a couple of months, which was the case with previous champs), they are frustrated because they felt like they are missing out.

Yeah, even I got 7* pavitr from banquet valiant crystal, for some reason champ acquired through this mean don't get Ascension.

Yes! I don't think ascension is that terrible of a system but it is really, really complicated… And I really don't think Kabam did a very good job breaking it down for the players. Thus it led to a lot of player feeling really frustrated and thus feeling punished because something wasn't clear and they end up missing out.

Clear or not it is what it is. Its a paywall? Yes it is; but its not a punishment. Its an early access to ascending. If people are going to be anal about this, its not really a paywall either. Its a pay curtain or whatever you want to call it. You can still have the champ just can't ascend it until its open for everyone.

Yeah, I agree it is not an actual punishment, that's why I said that people FEEL they are being punished. And that comes from unclear and lack of communication from Kabam. I am simply trying to say that people's frustration comes not from champions being paywalled but that they didn't understand how this whole thing worked due to Kabam's poor communication.

I feel like you are downplaying how important clear communication is. If you look at all the negative posts whether it is regarding Ascension or Essentia in the last few days, many of them becomes a much lesser issue if Kabam just communicate clearly what is going to happen. People might still not like it, but I don't think they will be as angry and frustrated.

Yeah that's why i said they need to stop over victimizing themselves. If anything this is a paywall for 25 bucks for a slight stat boost. As opposed as a champ being exclusive for people who spend 500+ bucks. If anything this route is slightly better.

This doesn't mean I defend ascension by the way. I just mean that it's probably the least of the issues with it and probably not even worth making a big deal about.

Nobody is arguing that its too expensive , i would have forked over the $25 if Kabam did a better job in properly communicating that the ascension was exclusive to the Plat Track/that pulling him from the Titan wouldnt count.

25$ isnt much in the grand scheme of things but combined with other plat tracks and other offers, even these smaller costs add up. Combine that with the fact that this champ was confirmed to go into the Titan means a lot of people would skip the Plat Track and just try getting from the Titan. That could save $25 for a Plat Track exclusive champ like Captain Britain.

This now leads to a situation where people who play the game competitively in BGs will be disadvantaged going up against an ascended version of one of the strongest Mystic attackers. It might just be ascended 1 but there are still benefits that players will miss out on regardless. For example Prestige which is linked to more rewards, but moreso an increased challenger rating which is one of the biggest factors in BGs pushing (punching up versus down etc)

If we belittle it and say "its just 25$ , its just a small stat boost, who even cares" we ignore the main issue that this same thing can happen again from poor communication

Then you should have presented your case or post better. You make it sound as if you were being punished for being F2P not for deciding not to spend on that 1 occasion.

Communication was bad, but you are not a non spender, you just decided to not spend on that 1 deal.

Its almost as if you are trying to get the support of those die hard f2p players to make an argument.

It's displaying on the forums on page 3 (as if the last response was by @BringPopcorn 7 hours 42 minutes ago), even though the most recent comment was done an hour ago by him? Seems kind of suspicious so as to bury the thread and avoid criticism of the aforementioned bad communication surrounding this.

@Polygon , seems like new Forums provider system has posts not get bumped back to top if their downvotes (by forum users) are lopsided enough to warrant that.

But anyone who had contributed will still get notifications when new comments are added, so you can still dialog with them.

(and also, wasn’t anything further on this for 4 days after initial post and comment, before starting back-n-forth again after that time ??)
