Concerns About Prestige Changes with Ascension and the Top 30 List

I wanted to raise some concerns about the recent direction prestige is heading with the addition of Ascension and the Top 30 prestige list changes.

For players who focus on prestige as a major part of progression, the current system feels increasingly unfair and heavily dependent on RNG rather than planning or investment.

Right now, we can’t even rank 6 our 7-star champions yet, which already limits the ability to push prestige through normal progression. However, with Ascension now boosting prestige, certain champions can suddenly jump ahead on the leaderboard while others are stuck waiting for access to the right champs.

What makes this even more frustrating is the RNG element tied to which champions can be ascended. If prestige is something you care about, you currently have very little control over your progression because it depends entirely on whether you randomly pull one of the specific champions that can be ascended and happen to be high prestige.

Prestige used to reward:

Long-term roster development

Strategic rank-ups

Resource investment

Now it feels like it rewards luck in crystal pulls more than anything else.

The issue isn’t ascension itself. It’s that the system is being layered on top of prestige before players even have the ability to fully rank up their current top tier champions (7★ Rank 6).

This creates a few problems:

Prestige is increasingly RNG-driven

Roster planning becomes almost impossible

Players who prioritize prestige are forced to chase random pulls instead of progression paths

If ascension is going to impact prestige this heavily, it would make more sense if:

Players had broader access to ascension options, or

Ascension did not affect prestige, or

We at least had 7★ Rank 6 available first so prestige progression still followed the normal rank structure.

Right now it feels like prestige has moved from something players could strategically build toward to something determined by crystal RNG, which doesn’t feel great for players who enjoy that side of the game.

I’m curious how other prestige-focused players feel about this. At this point I'm highly considering just walking away from this game which I've played for over 10 years.

Ascension prestige is unfortunately only a side effect of the game moving toward a more heavy rng and monetized structure.

This is the most monetized and convoluted the game has ever been and prestige is cherry on top.

Oh and dont forget every new champion is in the top 30

100% agree with every point you made!!

Prestige always had an element of chance regarding pulling the most prestigious champs… but once you had the champ, maximizing their prestige was simply a matter of getting the needed resources, which we canNOT do with regards to Ascension.

Don’t like how this new feature affecting prestige was implemented. Not one bit.

Ascension coming out before maxed out 7-stars are possible is putting the cart before the horse.

I completely agree with everything said here, and honestly it echoes a lot of the concerns that many long-time players have been quietly feeling for a while now.

Prestige has always been one of the few systems in the game that rewarded long-term planning, smart resource management, and consistent roster development. Players who cared about prestige were willing to invest heavily in rank-ups, make difficult choices about where to spend resources, and slowly build toward higher numbers over time. It felt like something you could actually work toward through dedication and strategy.

With the addition of Ascension affecting prestige before we even have access to 7★ Rank 6, it feels like that structure has been disrupted in a pretty significant way.

Right now the progression path for prestige feels very unclear and largely outside of the player’s control. The biggest factor suddenly isn’t how well you manage your roster or resources — it’s whether or not you randomly pull one of the few champions that can be ascended and happen to have top-tier prestige values.

That shift from strategic progression to RNG dependency is what makes the system feel frustrating.

Prestige used to reward players who were willing to:

• Plan rank-ups months in advance

• Invest rare resources into specific champions

• Develop their roster with a clear long-term goal in mind

Now it increasingly feels like the determining factor is simply crystal luck, which removes a lot of the agency players used to have over their own progression.

And like the original post mentioned, the issue isn’t Ascension as a feature. Ascension itself is a cool mechanic and adds another layer of growth for champions. The problem is how it’s interacting with prestige at a time when the natural rank progression for 7-star champions isn’t even complete yet.

Introducing such a major prestige modifier before players can reach the next normal rank tier creates a strange situation where:

• Prestige progression becomes inconsistent

• Roster planning becomes extremely difficult

• Players who prioritize prestige feel forced into chasing RNG rather than progression

For players who care about prestige — especially those who have spent years building their accounts around it — that shift feels pretty discouraging.

Personally, I’ve been playing this game for over 10 years, and prestige has always been a major part of how I approached roster building. Watching it become increasingly tied to random crystal outcomes instead of intentional progression honestly takes away some of the motivation that used to drive that part of the game.

I think the system would feel much healthier if at least one of the following happened:

• Broader and more accessible Ascension options

• Ascension not impacting prestige values

• Or waiting until 7★ Rank 6 was available before introducing a prestige-altering mechanic like this

Right now it just feels like prestige — which used to represent planning, investment, and long-term account growth — is drifting toward being another system determined primarily by luck.

And for players who really enjoy the prestige aspect of the game, that’s a pretty tough pill to swallow.

And all of this is exacerbated by the change to top 30. If it was just top 5 it would be dumb still with ascension swamping out everything but at least after you got 5 ranked you would be good to rank other champs for actual use.
