Curb Stomping the Ordeal: My 0 Revive Hero Run
Welp, looks like we're pulling this forum account out of retirement again. Time to talk about my hero challenge run in the Ordeal!
The Squad:
7* R4 sig 200 Prowler with 6* sentinel relic
7* R4 sig 200 Nico with 7* destroyer relic
7* R3 sig 40 Quicksilver with 5* beardo relic
7* R3 sig 20 Medusa with 5* hulkling relic (dupe helps a lot against Modok)
7* R2 sig 20 Professor X with 4* storm relic (dupe makes things easier but is not needed)
The Stash:
5993 units
33 L1 revives
44 L2 revives
18 L3 revives
11 L2 team revives
About 50 L5 potions and 75 L3 potions
1804 free crystals
Masteries:
Same as always. No suicides, willpower, max points in despair for Sasquatch, 3/5 mystic dispersion for Nico
Now let's get this show on the road shall we? Quick note that I had the big 1 hour health, attack and champion boosters active for the whole run.
Fight: Doctor Doom
My Pick: Nico
Deaths: 0 (barely)
One of the hardest fights with this team since I don't have an XL champ. Use Nico, spam heavies, cycle the sp2 and sp1, and let the poisons do the work. Expect to die a bit but it's also the first fight so you can at least restart until you get a good first try.
Fight: Terrax
My Pick: Nico
Deaths: 0
Fairly easy provided you can manage the rock field. Get to a sp2 and you can constantly poison Terrax via the power gain buffs by staying away from him. Use sp1 to keep the buff immunity up and make sure you back off a bit to let the rock field expire if needed. Make sure you are fully healed and you should be okay here.
Fight: Vision
My Pick: Medusa
Deaths: 0
Stupidly easy. Bait out a sp1 from him, then sp1 to armor shatter and spam sp3 to keep him permanently power locked. Joke fight.
Fight: Modok
My Pick: Medusa
Deaths: 0
Awakened Medusa has true accuracy when she armor shatters the opponent, so once you get the armor shatter on the auto block is no longer an issue. Bait and evade the sp1 and spam sp3 to keep the true accuracy up. Quite easy.
Fight: Spider Ham
My Pick: Professor X
Deaths: 0
Prof counters the evade completely above 25 charges, but you gotta play smart to get there. At the start of the fight, dodge and wait for your falter to come off cooldown. Once it's there, you can use it to safely charge heavy and build your charges. Spam is also power locked during mind control so use that to spam specials like crazy. Once mind control ends, use the falter to build back to 25 charges, then rinse and repeat. If your prowess buffs are about to fall off you can prematurely activate mind control with a special attack so you can refresh them.
Bait sp1, use the taunt for willpower healing, and you'll be fine. Long one but quite straightforward.
Fight: Weapon X
My Pick: Prowler
Deaths: 0
Quite easy, just be aware that Wolverine goes unstoppable whenever he misses so you can't use the falter for free openings. Prowler is also bleed immune so even if you do get clipped there's a chance you'll still survive. Nothing to note rotation-wise, just a big beefy Weapon X.
Fight: Thing
My Pick: Quicksilver
Deaths: 0
At the start of the fight, land a heavy, then dash back until you get 300 charges and apply the slow debuff. From there, just build your whiplashes and make sure you don't detonate them while protection is active. Bit of a longer one but quite easy.
Fight: Korg
My Pick: Prowler
Deaths: 0
Prowler's medium attacks counter evade as well as the rock shield so this one isn't the worst, just make sure you don't use two light attacks in a row since those can still be evaded. Your rupture damage isn't affected by flux dispersal so use that to your advantage. Try not to block, use the falter to get openings if needed and you'll be good to go.
Fight: Dragon Man
My Pick: Quicksilver
Deaths: 0
Dexing with Quicksilver inflicts wither which helps deal with the power charge. Mind the stun immunity and this one is stupid easy.
Fight: Black Panther Civil War
My Pick: Nico with buff immunity prefight
Deaths: 0
Bait heavy attacks to get openings and keep the buff immunity up at all costs or else he'll trigger unblockable and footloose. If you use the sp1 you apply halt which allows you to ignore the unstoppable on heavy attacks. Slow fight but not the worst.
Fight: Nightcrawler
My Pick: Professor X
Deaths: 0
Stupid easy. Get 25 charges to counter the evade, win.
Fight: Spider Gwen
My Pick: Professor X
Deaths: 0
Don't parry, use the falter to get above 25 charges, then you're good to go. Bait heavies or intercept to get openings.
Fight: Domino
My Pick: Prowler
Deaths: 0
Prowler completely counters Domino, just mind the evade when she is lucky. Spam sp2s while the falter is active and you'll rip through this one.
Fight: Mojo
My Pick: Quicksilver
Deaths: 0
Bit of a scary one. Quicksilver doesn't gain the dexterity buff, however Mojo completes a prompt every 20 seconds, and once he hits 5 completed prompts he starts placing hater buffs which will turn into degen. Fully heal up, and pray you can blow him up with one whiplash cycle. Keep in mind that everytime you die it will take him one less prompt to start placing hater buffs so make sure you heal up every try.
Fight: Immortal Abomination
My Pick: Medusa
Deaths: 0
Very easy fight but very long. Ibom has a chance to reflect bleeds back to you, however you get lots of willpower healing via the debuffs, so you can still armor shatter provided you stop your light attacks if you get a bleed on you. Bait sp1 and you'll be good.
Fight: Apocalypse
My Pick: Prowler
Deaths: 0
Apoc starts with all 4 genetic code against heroes (basically your entire team) so he'll be parry immune and his light attacks stun through your block. Bait heavies and heal up so you can tank the special damage on your block.
Fight: Sasquatch
My Pick: Quicksilver
Deaths: 0
Knock him down a few times to disable the lifecycle shield, then build up to 300 momentum to apply the slow. Stack your whiplashes and blow him up. Remember that Quicksilver can't trigger the dexterity buff so power snack is a non-issue. Play around his wrath phase and you'll be good.
Fight: Killmonger
My Pick: Prowler
Deaths: 0
Do not parry at the start. Instead, heavy counter with your heavy to apply the incinerate and start gaining power. Prowler's mediums don't make contact so you can freely use those while reverberation is active. Make sure you heavy counter his specials with your heavy to keep the incinerate active since that's your only method of gaining power. Spam sp2s with the falter and this one's quite simple.
Fight: Void
My Pick: Medusa, then Prowler to finish
Deaths: 1
The other hardest fight on the path. Use heavy attacks to prevent long distance relationship, make sure you time your combo to purify his personal debuffs, then drop your big specials to deal damage. Champs with damage over time on specials are strongly recommended for this fight, however Void's fun and interactive damage will likely still tank you. Heal up, chuck your team at him, then team revive and repeat. You will die.
Fight: Nick Fury
My Pick: Professor X
Deaths: 0
Mind kinetic transference, push Fury to sp2s as much as possible. Be aware that he ignores your falter while he has more than 5 of his charges. The transition to the second life will also completely remove your mind control so keep that in mind as well. Not the worst as long as you pay attention.
Fight: Thanos
My Pick: Prowler
Deaths: 0 (by the skin of my teeth)
Just chuck your team at this guy, make sure you hold block as much as possible to minimize the chance he throws a special attack, though he will sometimes just randomly chuck it off anyways. Use a bleed immune if possible for the first phase, play around the evade in the second phase, and pray to the love of god he is aggressive so you can intercept for the safeguard in the final phase.
And that's it! Definitely some tough matchups with this team, but they can absolutely do it deathless with some good skill. Pretty fun to run through this one!
The Final Cost:
0 revives, free crystals or units (yay!)
About 15 L5 potions and 50 L3 potions just healing people up
2 sets of 1 hour health, attack and champion boosters
The Rewards:
Got everyone I wanted from the new titan crystal so that nexus is getting shelved for now.
Pulled a 7* Prowler relic from my relic nexus. One of the better ones I suppose.
2-3 gem is going to be saved for if I need to do an emergency rank up for the later challenges.
Final Thoughts:
1. If you are stupidly good, you can run this thing without boosters as well, though I would not recommend.
2. I WILL BE DOING GUIDES FOR THE REMAINING CHALLENGES AS THEY COME OUT. Got some teams planned for those already so let me know if y'all want to see those.
3. Final run took about an hour and a half to smash out, so time commitment-wise it isn't the biggest thing in the world.
4. Spread this to your friends and alliance mates. Link to this will also be in the MCOC discord as well!
Thanks for reading, hope this helped y'all, and I will see you next week for the Villains run!
