Honest opinion about Magik and her pricing

Basically a jack of all trades, master of none

As an attacker, she is too slow against non optimal matchups

As a defender, she may not be able to take lots of punishment while her degen may not be able to deal too much damage to the attacker if she dies too early

20 limbo tokens for 7* Magik is slightly OVERPRICED but this is Kabam
We get 3 free limbo tokens from an objective so that’s great
17 limbo tokens cost 340,000 radiance, there’s no hurry to get her since she is unlikely to make a huge impact to your account in any mode
She will cost more if you want First Appearance shiny shiny but I don’t think she is worth it

7* Magik is not ascendable also, she really needs the extra boost from ascension unfortunately

Am I missing some hidden potential from Magik?

I bought 2 limbo tokens for 40,000 radiance for a start

1 from sigil store which doesn’t need sigil to purchase the limbo token

1 from radiance store

So I will getting 7* Magik but I will not be in a rush to get her after testing her extensively

I agree Magik is quite attainable for most players who play battlegrounds and reach GC every season but you can buy roughly 5 titan crystals with the same amount of radiance and maybe get Doctor Strange who is another great Mystic champion

Nico sucks when there are no buffs yet I don’t see any comments about how slow she is on attack, that’s literally how 90% of all attackers are built these days nobody is meant to handle every defender in the game. She handles all the current cosmic threats in respectable times and she’s a defender too, that’s more than enough.
Her degen damage on defense is decent without a counter, you’re probably just looking at the numbers and ignoring the fact that maxed MD will give her more power which will cause limbo to trigger more often and on top of that she will regen a good chunk of health every single time it expires. Additionally, if you miss the dex on her sp1 for whatever reason you’re cooked, she will quite comfortably be on Iceman level except she has less counters than Iceman does (buff immune, degen resistance, or big constant regen like Scorpion) and Iceman is used a lot these days even in Celestial leagues.

I think the price tag is more than fair, you’re just sleeping on her and being overly dramatic, with all due respect.

Bcos Nico creates 1 buff every 5 hits……..

Magik creates 1 buff every power bar which takes more than 10 hits

Yea I agree her degen on defense is going to be decent

So far I haven seen anyone brought out a rank 4 Magik, probably bcos it costs 40 limbo tokens

I’m still waiting to see her in action in defense to see how much the damage will be, I already taken Mystic Dispersion into account, not saying she is going to be a bad defender but for 40 limbo tokens I expect something impactful, not just decent

37 limbo tokens is going to cost a hell lot of radiance, its fair for a chase trophy champion similar to a Rolex that tells you the same time as a Apple Watch

Doesn’t matter, she is a little slow if there aren’t any extra buffs helping her dish out more damage. Magik doesn’t need extra buffs to dish out good damage and hers is factually better than Nico’s in non-buff heavy matchups.

Just to put things into perspective since I already know nobody’s going to agree with that last statement about non-buff heavy matchups, this is a r5 ascended 6* Magik:

1:04 correct? No buffs on this RoL Cap Marvel whatsoever, now let’s look at r4 7* Nico:

Same exact matchup, no buffs, 0:51? Huh? So two full ranks higher + higher challenger rating and 7* Nico is barely 13 secs faster than 6* Magik?

Anyways, let’s continue, next up one of the highest damage dealers in the mystic class back in the day. He was literally THE #1 mystic before the wave of cosmic 7* defenders that wiped him off of every BGs deck for a while, r5 ascended 6* Abs Man:

0:59, barely 5 seconds faster than Magik. Wow, people must’ve been delusional back then I suppose because if Magik is slow, then so was Abs Man.

Still not convinced? Let’s compare him to currently the best champ in the Titan pool, a champ who has very good damage and that I’ve already seen in many BGs decks at r4. r5 ascended 6* Doctor Strange:

Would you look at that, 4 seconds slower than Magik. Not a big deal of course, but Strange has been getting so much praise for his buff, what about Magik’s? Nope she’s too slow and she only works for buff heavy matchups yada yada yada.

Anyways, the point I’m trying to make is the price tag on her is more than fair, you get a champ who on attacks is on Strange level (you could even argue she’s higher because she can do Thanos and Dark Phoenix which Strange absolutely sucks for) and on defense is on Iceman level (might even end up being Domino level depending on how well the degen scales with nodes and other things on defense). If you can’t see the value in that then I don’t really know what else to say. What I can tell you is she’s absolutely going to have an impact on the meta and people are sleeping on her massively because of donuts like Lagacy, just jumping on the whining train for the sake of whining.

Fair enough then, as you can see she has about the same damage output as Abs and Strange, she’s basically right in between those two in terms of speed and damage (assuming there are no buffs at play whatsoever cause when there are, all three of them get supercharged).

A lot of these negative comments you see are either a. people salty that she lost the things that made her broken (as if it wasn’t obvious when the rework was announced that that would be the case) b. just jumping on the whining train with their favorite content creators or c. mad that they have to start playing BGs competitively because that will be their main source of radiance. Out of all of these, only c. is sort of valid, but unfortunately it is what it is, working hard for your rewards in this game isn’t something completely new it’s always been like that for the top rewards always and it’s nice that they’re being added to other game modes not just endgame content.

I think he meant that she's far more attainable if you're in an alliance that actually does stuff. Your perspective would almost certainly be at least slightly different if that were the case.

telling doesn't matter if they tell us in Jan - so u have 2-3 months to save then yes maybe

in BGs - less than 100k as Q1 ( 1000 are till M3 - whales and grinders)

in aq - need prestige for so take 5k per week (20k a month)

aw - depend totally ral on alliance

so 400k+ radiance only possible for 3-4month grind & save - for Avg

I don't care about the first appearance. When the first appearance sells out, will regular Magik be sold for 20 Limbo Ceremonies?

I want to buy Magik, but gradually—getting 6 in each phase over 3 times, for a total of 20 Limbo Ceremonies. Is this possible? The Radiance price keeps increasing each time, so it ends up being too expensive.

I've just accepted that I'm not getting her. I think she is a cool champ but locking her behind radiance sucks. Grinding BGS sucks

Honestly Magik is good but i don't think she is worth over 500k plus radiance. Though i do enjoy the max sig acended 6* i would just make do with mystic champs i have who do the same thing a little slower but cheaper.
