This season was the first time in like 2 years I didn't reach gladiator circuit

Yes it's definitely a skill issue, but the amount of legends with full r4 decks of 40 where like 80% is nightmare defenders can't be good for the health of the mode. This only benefits the whales. I'm on an 8 match losing streak because everyone I face has every insane defender at r4 sig 200. Feel free to pile it on, git gud, skill issue, etc etc and I agree, I'm not the most skilled player. But this season was an absolute mess. Multiple people in my alliance also didn't reach gc even though they always do. And it sucks.

I completely feel this.

And then we have extended rosters and 2 more bans to deal with. This is also frustrating to me, because we didn't get MORE TIME to scan these rosters for the extra champs to ban.

I don't believe this new BGs plan was thought out carefully, and crafted to benefit the majority of the community.

The game mode is not made to be player friendly, it has a failure rate of 50% and clearly was about maximizing profits. I try not to do it as much as possible, but then they tie MOST events into it in some capacity. It's not for me, I get that.

They still havent addressed the fact it takes forever to get a match. I routinely wait 30-40 seconds to match. Not being able to leave until everyone has at least 10 seconds for an emote is asinine. Matchmaking makes little sense. Hey though, everyone chase the shiny counter or buy items with cash.

I'm in the same boat. Don't get me wrong, I'm no BG master but up until a couple of months ago I always reached GC. If it wasn't for the objectives I wouldn't have bothered with BG at all this season.

I finally clawed my way in a couple of days ago, won a single match, and went into Gamma iv. Just shows how few people got in this time compared to previous seasons.

My skills be 60% good and 40% bad.

I ended up Quantum/arcane for the last whole year without trying or pushing.

I though I'd push this time as I was free.… I grinded week 1/2. I was even in celestial during the start.

1: But I can't be arsed with Bgs. It's a grind mode. Needs spare time and needs focus. I don't have that luxury. I'm not free for hours upon hours. Last Gc match I played was 10 days ago for the goblin objetive thing. I'm somehere in q1/q2 atm but refer 1.

It used to be fun... it ain't anymore. Too monotonous, same fights.

I didn't really mind 40 deck and 5 bans. It's part of the game. I actually prefer it.

It's not hard, its a grind, needing time. I just can't.

With the change to 30 champs deck, the things could change.

I am a FTP with 32 R4 and 3 or 4 haven´t been used this season so I was 12 R4 below. Now with the return to 30 champs, the number of R4 below the whales can be less.

I think Kabam should separate victory track from gc and make those rewards earnable through a solo milestone event by completing matches or fights. Final milestone can unlock gc.

And the gc players who ended the season with like 100 points could start in uru and get the vt rewards after like 5 matches or something.

Next season meta could shake things up quite a bit. No points to attacker health means speed is the only factor, stall defenders will gain a lot of prominence

That’s only in season 38 if I remember correctly. Next season is 37. That one only has the thing in pre season where non saga defenders take 5 % damage.

I will say thay the 40 champion deck with 5 bans and 3 rerolls you need to pay for was an awful idea and I have no idea how it made it out of the brainstorming stage.

Kabam had a slam dunk home run with the omega pool idea and they decided to come up with something way worse instead

Saga defenders thing is for pre season testing, main season will have the attackers change. Saga defenders might come back for the second GC meta if it does well they said

definitely took me longer than normal to get to GC and get the 1 match done.

I think the trend will continue until the Blade piece is put into the final VT milestone. Participation will increase that season, road will be smoother. Then it will return to the slog. The rewards for rushing through aren’t worth it. GC grinding at the lower levels isn’t work worth it. And BG’s as a whole is skippable for most.

Nothing is really driving increased participation because it takes too long, everyone has the same rosters, and the rewards for most barely move the needle. and that simply isn’t a lot of fun for a lot of folks.

It's the repetitive RNG grind that's most frustrating.

1: Get to the champion pool screen.

2: See that they've got exactly the same 5/5 r4 defenders that absolutely everyone has.

3: Die a little inside, each time, because all the matches are the same
