Another Curb Stomping: My 0 revive Ordeal Villain Run
Was gonna post this earlier, but some irl stuff got in the way. Better late than never I suppose.
The Squad:
7* R4 sig 200 Onslaught with 6* sinister relic
7* R4 sig 200 Kingpin with 7* bullseye relic
7* R3 sig 80 Deathless She Hulk with 6* beardo relic
7* R3 sig 100 Serpent with 5* ms marvel relic
7* R3 sig 80 Nimrod with 6* prowler relic
The Stash:
6453 units
29 L1 revives
42 L2 revives
18 L3 revives
11 L2 team revives
About 40 L5 potions and 55 L3 potions
1832 free crystals
Masteries:
Same as always. No suicides, had willpower and max points in despair for Sasquatch. Was also running the hour long health, attack and champion boosters for the full run.
Now let's smash through these fights again. Once more, with feeling!
Fight: Doctor Doom
My Pick: Onslaught
Deaths: 0
Very trivial fight, just mind bubble shield and try to push to sp2 as much as possible so you don't have to deal with the aura. Build your neuros, sp2 to degen, keep them paused, win.
Fight: Terrax
My Pick: Kingpin
Deaths: 0
Bit scary at times, but not too bad. Kingpin gets a huge damage boost from all the armor breaks but he also has to deal with the rock field damage. Spam sp1 for the attack reduction and degen and wait out the rock field if you have to in order to minimize the damage you take.
Fight: Vision
My Pick: She Hulk
Deaths: 0
Stupidly easy provided you get some decent trauma rng at the start. Stack a few of them on, bait out the sp1 to refresh, and go crazy. If you feel the AI is not being cooperative use a sp3 to make your traumas last longer, other spam sp2 to counter the synthesis via the wither.
Fight: Modok
My Pick: Kingpin
Deaths: 0
Pretty easy. Spam sp1 to take advantage of the specialist node, otherwise just smack him and try not to get hit by a sp1. Keep in mind that Kingpin can sometimes get around the auto block since his degen provides 65% defensive AA reduction.
Fight: Spider Ham
My Pick: Serpent
Deaths: 0
Very easy but very long fight. Throw a special and you completely counter the evade for the rest of the fight provided you don't get hit. Bait sp1 and take advantage of the taunt debuff for free willpower healing.
Fight: Weapon X
My Pick: Nimrod
Deaths: 0
Joke fight. Nimrod destroys Weapon X so just play around his unblockable and you'll be good to go.
Fight: Thing
My Pick: Kingpin
Deaths: 0
Another easy one, spam sp1 since it can help control the rock stacks. Sp2 spam is not too viable since you'll have so much damage you'll just trigger protection constantly.
Fight: Korg
My Pick: Kingpin (picked him by accident, meant to use Onslaught)
Deaths: 0 (somehow)
Use Onslaught for this fight and it's an easy win. Otherwise, this one can really suck. With Kingpin, I just spammed sp1s for the defensive AA reduction and tried to land heavies to reset flux dispersal when the rock shield is gone or if I used a relic. Won this one by the skin of my teeth.
Fight: Dragon Man
My Pick: Deathless She Hulk
Deaths: 0
This one can be scary. Ramp your traumas and keep them refreshed, sp2 wither can reverse the power charge gain so take advantage of that. If Dragon Man throws a sp1, block a hit to remove the power gain and use the ineptitude debuff for healing. Mind the massively scaling power gain and stun immunity and you'll get through.
Fight: Black Panther Civil War
My Pick: Serpent
Deaths: 0
Serpent has a fear debuff on the sp1 which can prevent the unblockable from vigorous assault if timed right. Push to sp2 as much as possible to minimize the amount of footloose you have to deal with and you'll be okay. Mind the stun reflection and you'll get through, expect this one to be tricky though.
Fight: Nightcrawler
My Pick: Serpent
Deaths: 0
Throw a special for the true focus, counter the evade, win.
Fight: Spider Gwen
My Pick: Serpent
Deaths: 0
Throw a special for the true focus, counter the evade, do not parry, win.
Fight: Domino
My Pick: Nimrod
Deaths: 0
Joke fight. Bait the sp1 to gain power and spam sp2s while in the orange mode for massive shocks. Too easy.
Fight: Mojo
My Pick: Deathless She Hulk
Deaths: 0 (barely)
This one can be tricky, the traumas help with baiting the sp1 but Mojo also completes a prompt every 20 seconds. Once he hits 5 completed prompts he starts placing hater buffs which in turn inflict degen with the anti life field. Mind the prompts and try to slug through this one, make sure you fully heal every try since he ramps faster the more you die to him.
Fight: Immortal Abomination
My Pick: Deathless She Hulk
Deaths: 0
Easy fight. Bait sp1, try not to parry too much, and take advantage of the disorient and petrify debuffs for free healing.
Fight: Apocalypse
My Pick: Nimrod
Deaths: 0
Stupidly easy. Your entire team is villains so Apoc won't start with max charges unless you die a bunch. Literally anyone can do this one, heal up so you can tank the special attacks on block.
Fight: Sasquatch
My Pick: Deathless She Hulk
Deaths: 0
Max despair combined with the trauma debuffs mean you completely counter lifecycle once you get into the fight. Your sp2 wither can also counter power snack so use that to your advantage. Play around his wrath phase, knock him down when possible to remove the lifecycle shield, and this one's pretty trivial.
Fight: Killmonger
My Pick: Onslaught
Deaths: 0
Very long but very safe fight. Blocking hits inflicts bleed on you but Onslaught takes no damage so it's free healing. However, you won't be able to gain power so you'll basically need to rely on the neuroshocks on your basic attacks to deal your damage. Heavy counter Killmonger's special attacks to keep everything paused and this one isn't too stressful.
Fight: Void
My Pick: Serpent, then Nimrod to finish
Deaths: 1
Easily the hardest fight. Spam heavies to deal with long distance relationship, and time your combos with Void's debuff timer when possible. Anyone with red numbers on specials will do great here. Prepare to take loads of fun and interactive damage. You will die.
Fight: Nick Fury
My Pick: Onslaught
Deaths: 0
Stupidly easy fight. Push to sp2 as much as possible, otherwise just ramp your neuros and degen and you will clap this one.
Fight: Thanos
My Pick: Onslaught
Deaths: 0
Onslaught annihilates this fight. He takes no bleed damage so the first phase is ridiculously easy. Mind the evade in the second phase, and pray you can get some intercepts in the final phase. Ramp your degens and you should take this fight down quick.
And that's it! Honestly this was even easier than the hero challenge imo.
The Final Cost:
0 revives, potions or free crystals
About 10 L5 potions and 30 L3 potions
2 sets of 1 hour full boosters
Just under an hour and a half of my day
The Rewards:
Titan crystal is getting saved for the next reset.
Awakened my 7* Prowler relic from my nexus. Not bad.
2-3 gem went into Professor X for Coliseum and the hero abyss challenge. Should be VERY fun.
Final Thoughts:
1. Similar to the last challenge, this one can definitely be done unboosted, though this might make some fights more tricky.
2. We need challenges like this more often. Not overly restrictive and very fun to run through. Here's hoping the next batch of Carina Challenges don't take this long to come out.
3. Got some VERY interesting plans for the Abyss challenges. Those ones are gonna be damn fun.
Thanks for reading, apologies this was late, and as always, hope this helped y'all!
