Back Issues #4 (Moon Knight), 1* Hulk, why ??

With Back Issues ending next month, wanted to go do one Variant I had been meaning to do for a long time (just too lazy, stale rewards, etc).

But Variant #4 (that requires lower and lower * champs as you do each quest), had always sounded interesting. Finishing with using just 1* champs for final quest.
*and it had always been mentioned up here that you need 1* HULK for it (or at least, I think it was him always being mentioned, as the best and (maybe) only real viable option of the short 1* list).

So did it, and I don't get WHY that was always being said ?? Path Nodes, and also Boss, didn’t seem to favor him at all. Others did a fine and easy job of it.

I am guessing they changed something at some point, because when it originally launched he was absolutely necessary for exploration. Maybe it had caustic temper previously? I feel like his being the only poison immune with a fury was key to exploration

Only did 1 path, but the other's didn't seem to be needing him specifically either (not sure about poison though).

Just glanced back at a saved bookmark for MCOC Guide (I think) and even there didn’t highlight him specifically, mentioned about 4-5 others in addition to him to use. And best for Boss was Wolverine (think that's who I used) and one other non Hulk.

But just removed all those bookmarks now, no longer needed.

Just took a look into the past and I was correct. This path used to be bleed vul and caustic temper. Who knows when it was changed, but Hulk was absolutely necessary once upon a time.

It was for the second from the left path in the last quest iirc. It might have been caustic temper

1 path has Biohazard, but you don't need to hit into defenders block, so can avoid that poison.

Other 1* available. Vision was always “special aquire” means only, but the other normal Vision is 1* too, maybe wasn’t part of the earliest 1* set ? (but again, really don't need any for immunity)

Different path has bonus 200 damage while opponent stunned, that's where Hulk SP1 stun could be of use, but seemed like others would get thru it just as well also.

That one cell was just waiting for this moment, bursting at the seems in anticipation. And now it's journey is complete, never to be of any use again.

anyways, thanks. Was actually looking forward to trying this IN IT'S ORIGINAL CONDITION, especially since I had always save all those 1*, especially Hulk just for this (back when selling was an option). Oh well 😀

I think it was changed because with caustic temper Hulk was the only answer to that path from the 1* list, and there were a lot of complaints because getting 1* was difficult - it was also why Kabam started selling a 1* crystal for units
