Is the fact there's only 1000 shards total in the quest the joke?

I thought the same thing as well but then I saw that you can replay quest multiple times

so replaying the 4th (last) one would give you 400 more each time (if reading other threads is correct).

Instead of replaying just the 1st one (only 100 shards each time)

Ultimately, this lets people play/repeat as many times as their own situations needs (if at all).
