Tried forcing the game to load via the Google Play Store and I get an error message stating that there is a bug preventing the app from opening. It states to update the app once the fix has been released. The Google Play Store only gives 2 options: Uninstall and Play.

Or you had already done that, but you couldn’t OPEN afterwards, so tried to Open direct from Play Store instead of device Home Screen ?

If there is an error message now (and not an error saying device no longer supported, ie, prior to Android v10), then try uninstalling and reinstalling, something might have updated incorrectly before.

Yes, updated it earlier this week. Tried opening from the device home screen (no luck); tried the Google Play Store ( no luck); tried via the Summoner market (nothing). Was afraid to uninstall for fear of losing everything.

this is most likely due to Google security hardening.

If a developer updates their app but forgets to update their security keys in the Google Play Console, the "handshake" fails. Google sees this as a potential hack and will force you to log in manually as a safety precaution.

Check Play Games Settings: Open the Play Games app, go to Settings, and ensure "Sign in to games automatically" is toggled on. If it's already on, toggle it off and back on to "refresh" the permission.

The issue OP's referring to is "game crashing on startup", which started 2-3 updates ago.

On Samsung devices, it shows "there is a bug preventing this app from opening". On iOS devices, it says something like "something is wrong with Champions". On my device (Xiaomi), it just crashes when I try to open it (without any error message).

Only ways to "fix" it are to either clear app data or uninstall then reinstall.

The issue you're referring to (probably) is the "Google play sign-in" one, which started with the latest update.

Yes, this one may be different from all the other posts, to which they were relaying the info that most everyone else was having.

But we don’t know if OP had even done a uninstall and reinstall yet. And this being updated here was 2 days after. They don't visit often (at least not logged in here). Probably a one-off issue.

But if others were seeing this thread (especially since it is “game not loading”), the Google Play info might apply to most others.
