Balancing the Grind: Let Us See Opponent Medals Before the Match to Reduce Victory Road Stress
I’m writing this because I, like many others, am feeling the heavy burnout of the Battlegrounds grind. While I love the game, the current state of Victory Track has become a source of high stress rather than a fun path to progression.
The Issue:
Right now, we enter matches completely blind. We don't see the "profession" or the rank of our opponent until the draft has already started. This leads to a massive "stress spike" when a developing player is suddenly matched against a high-tier account with a massive roster. Because we can't see the medals/rank beforehand, the matchmaking feels random and often unfair.
The Suggestion:
I am proposing that Kabam implements a Pre-Match Medal/Rank Display.
Transparency: Let players see the opponent’s current Medals and Peak Rank on the "Match Found" screen.
Differentiation: We already have the Gladiator’s Circuit for hardcore, high-stakes competitive play. The Victory Track should be a healthier environment focused on growth and fair matchups.
Why this helps Player Health:
Expectation Management: If I see a player with significantly more medals, I can mentally prepare for a tough fight rather than being blindsided.
Reducing Collusion/Stress: If there were a way for players to see each other's status, it would create a more transparent community where the "grind" feels less like a brick wall.
Retention: Reducing the "blind" frustration will keep players in the mode longer and prevent people from quitting Battlegrounds altogether.
Victory Road should be a journey, not a source of exhaustion. Let’s save the "blind" intensity for the Gladiator’s Circuit and make the Victory Track more transparent for the health of the community.
