Do you think we need any new revive farming options?

After the removal of the apothicary (replaced with new daily quests that also give 1 20% revive everyday, ok), and the removal of back issues, we're left with no good option to revive farming, apart from daily quest and daily super event (1 20% and 1 40% revive daily).

I farmed quite a lot of revives in the last days before the removal of back issues so I could do the first 4 carina's challenges without compromising my normal stock of revives, so I'm full of 40% revives and have about 18 20% revives at the moment.

With these challenges I am in need of a quite large amount of revives for the carina's challenges, still waiting to do the last 2 carina's and I don't know how many revives those will take. There's 30 days until the 13th of may so that means 30 40% revives and 30 20% revives, plus the ones I have right now, that means I will have about 100 revives total plus some change from the weekly event to complete the last 2 carina's challenges. I don't know if that will be enough, I hope it is.

So I want to know the opinion of the people. Do you think we need some other revive farming option? Do you think we get enough? How many revives did you use in the carina's so far?

We don't need a way to farm Revs that much. That just undervalues content.

Could they introduce more? Perhaps. It's never enough for some who want to stockpile in one go and do content immediately.

We can save over time and wait. Not everything needs to be pushed on day 1.

The more revives we have access to the harder content will become. There's also 4 free crystals a day which have a low chance granted but realistically it's probably not healthy for the game for everyone to be able to keep s full revive stock super easily

Yeah I agree. For me this amount of revives seems enough. I am by no means a very good player, but with a nice roster of R4s and R3s, I am capable of doing the carinas with a reasonable amount of revives, and I think I will be able to complete the last 2 on time for the big rewards (I hope), and then maybe I will have to wait a little to take on Act 9.4, because I rather focusing on completing the carinas before may 13th, and I think I will also need a few revives for 9.4.
A little bit slower but completly doable for sure.

Im in between because personally I haven't really dipped into non overflow revives yet for these carinas.

I can acknowledge (while not bragging) that I'm probably in the upper percent of skill level in this game to where it is possible/plausible to do that and that the vast majority of the player base does need a much larger number of these items to tackle the content.

Then it comes down to the intention for these challenges by kabam and the results they themselves want to see vs what the community sees happening with these challenges.

Kabams goal is to make varying levels of difficult challenges that are meant to be things players work toward over an exetended period of time and tackle/beat one by one. This gives players big challenges and big rewards over a long period of time. But then they think about the players in that upper percent that is able to do all of these things immediately and add in a little extra cherry on top for them like the maestro.

Now the community side of that is very different. They see "complete these by x date to get maestro" and go "oh **** I need to do all this by then."

This isnt invalid (of course everyone is able to see this to promote the secondary revenue stream of unit/$$ spend on items) but it is not the primary target and does not align with the primary goal of the content.

There is only so much kabam can do about this since they cannot directly control how people see that objective.

We also need to address the second elephant in the room on the community side which is the community itself. When new content like this drops all the videos are about it, the rewards, the hype, etc. And most of the time that content is made by community members who are in or close to that upper percentile of players. There isnt really a big/popular creator that shows the other side of things which is the prep or more realistic side of tackling these challenges like BG used to so all everyone sees is the rush, the good play, the fomo, the forums talking about their teams and strategies and how little items used and then they feel inadequate and feel like it is required to get this done asap.

It's all counter to the primary design goals on paper and probably cant be controlled and it has to be more about how the player chooses to interact with this game and community. In an era where kabam is continuously trying to find ways to even control how the community interacts with every aspect of the game (CCP drops being a prime example) the individual needs to be able to distance themselves and make their own decisions for them more than ever

Short answer is no. Tough content comes out once every few months at most and we usually have revives expiring before it's released.

honestly farming 2 revives per day + free crystals was enough for me to do all 5/6 Carina challenges and also I still have like 60 revives left

It's also okay to use units for revives. If you want to get it done that badly. The game won't explode or anything if you do

The answer is unit farming in arena rather than revive farming in quest content. You'll have to prioritise spending your units on revives rather than special deals. Personally, I just got done parking for the villain's Epoch which was by far my sloppiest run (I just wanted to be done), and I still have a whole stash of revives along with the 4-hour crystals. Unfortunately, I know Carina won't be a walk in the park.

I’ve been doing every Carina’s challenge the day it drops and I only now had to stop selling revives that were about to expire in overflow with the Heroes Epoch gauntlet run. I did not do any farming for revives from Back Issues or such, just what we get from the Daily quest and Daily Super Event. I’ve been pretty loose with my revive usage too, since I consider health potions harder to get than revives at this point. My overflow is still pretty full, I haven’t touched my stockpile of 4 hr free crystals, and I don’t anticipate 9.4 and the last Epoch gauntlet run to run me anywhere close to dry.

Sometimes there’s a point where you have to accept that if you can’t get through content immediately without dumping 200+ revives into it, it’s not for you. Take it slowly so you can replenish your reserves in between attempts, spend units to brute force your way through, or just accept that it’s beyond your paygrade and come back to it later. Permanent content is permanent so that you can take it at your own pace, and if that pace is a crawl instead of a blistering run, no shame in it. But that requires you (using the general you here) to accept your limits. It’s not the game’s fault if you can’t rush things, but it’s not a failing on you either unless you let it be. Don’t make it a problem, and it won’t be a problem.

Yeah I know, I just want to know people's opinion.
For me it's a little bit stressing because I want to save ALL the units I can farm for next banquet (hope to get about 60k), since I think I can get more out of banquet than anywhere else, but of course If I'm like 3 revives away of getting a Maestro I'm absolutely buying those revives. I'm just not going to invest 10k units in it that's all.

Damn man I wish I had your hands, I'm a NOOB. I needed about 20 revives for each of the 2 first challenges and about 10 for the middle 2. Let's see what the last 2 set me back.

I farmed at most 40 revives in back issues during last three days. Opened 100 free crystals, 1 lvl1 revive, 1 lvl2 revive and 10 refills. To many refills and revives from drops.

So, I have 130 single revives on hand at this moment. During all this I also 100% explored (all 5 paths) abyss simultaneously doing 3 remaining volume 2 abyss carinas. Only three lol carinas left. Now I'm left with 3 lol carinas.

Revive farming is absolutley not needed at present state of the game. We have to see how long this twitch drops cycle continues on though.

I'm not a great player, and even I have completed all 6 and never ran out of revives. Farming them is really unnecessary.
