Am I reading that in game message correctly? Weekly super event, essentia, raidiance, does that mean we are just missing out on a potential weeks' worth of rewards?

No, the ENLISTMENT screen, aka AQ “Next Week” screen, is not used because that “Next Week” will be ALLY COLISEUM (instead of any AQ mode that requires setup by BGs).

With whatever rewards there is for Ally Coliseum (as a replacement week for other AQ modes).

Also, sort of funky to be listing those according to their “Enlistment” weeks, instead of listing what weeks themself will be those various mode of AQ (or Coliseum). (word of caution when looking at that game announcement/mail)
