Missed First Appearance Star-Lord by 1 day – unclear requirements?

I want to share my experience with Kabam Support regarding the First Appearance 7-Star Star-Lord (Stellar Forged).

I completed all the chase objectives and obtained every piece through gameplay, without purchasing anything. The objectives themselves had a clear expiration date, so I naturally assumed that completing them within that timeframe would be enough to qualify for the related rewards.

However, I ended up claiming the champion just one day after the stated eligibility window (February 5 instead of February 4), and because of that, I did not receive the “First Appearance” reward.

I contacted support, and their response was that the reward was only granted to players who obtained the champion between January 29 and February 4. While I understand that rule, there was no clear in-game indication that the *claiming* of the champion had a stricter deadline than the objectives themselves.

So in practice, even though I completed everything as intended and earned all the pieces fairly, I missed the reward due to what seems like unclear communication and a 1-day difference.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Do you think this was clearly communicated, or is this a bit misleading?

Would appreciate hearing your thoughts.

To be fair. There couldn't have been clear requirements since this wasnt a thing back when he came out. They only just introduced it for blade and are doing it retroactively for starlord. So going forward the requirement is get them within the first week of release which seems super fair for a first edition

But that’s exactly why this situation feels off to me. Since this was applied retroactively to Star-Lord and wasn’t clearly established beforehand, there was no way to know that claiming the champion itself had a stricter deadline than the objectives.

The objectives had a clear expiration date, so it was reasonable to assume that completing them in time was enough. Missing the reward by just one day because of a rule that wasn’t clearly communicated at the time feels a bit harsh.

If anything, since this was the first time they introduced this system, I think some flexibility or clearer communication would have been fair.

Quick update on this:

I just logged into the game and the First Appearance 7-Star Star-Lord (Stellar Forged) has now been added to my account.

I haven’t received a new response from support yet, so I’m not sure if this was a manual review, a delayed grant, or some kind of adjustment on their end.

Either way, I appreciate that it was resolved.
